Bravissimo Mercadal, one-bedroom plus sofa bed

The apartment had everything we needed. It was very clean, comfortable with enough storage space for two people. The air conditioning worked very well and was quiet. The location was perfect, very central with everything just a few minutes walk away. This meant we could come and go during the day making the heat in the middle of August much more bearable! There was a lift directly into the apartment which was brilliant after a hot day out and with our cases. The check in process was so easy and easy to understand, and we had customer services readily available on WhatsApp so we could let them know we’d arrived and request an earlier check in, which they happily did for us. The personal touch (we had emails from the company recommending trips too) was a welcome bonus. We would happily recommend the apartment to any of our friends.

Only a couple of tiny quibbles really! We would have preferred a double bed or the option to zip the two singles together. There was no lock on the bathroom door and a small gap meaning it wasn’t very private. A small ‘essentials’ pack in the kitchen, like sugar, salt/pepper and oil would have been really useful. Oh, and an ice-cube tray!

The apartment is spacious, modernly furnished, and features an excellent air conditioning system and a great shower. There are also plenty of power sockets throughout, which was very convenient. Check-in was seamless; we received the entry codes on the day of arrival, and physical keys were provided inside. The location is fantastic, offering easy access to the city center and plenty of nearby restaurants.

The soundproofing is quite poor; we could hear every movement (like chairs scratching from the apartment above, or doors closing throughout the building). Finding the entrance was also a bit confusing at first; it would help to mention that it is the door located in the bright red building. Additionally, Girona’s waste disposal system is quite complicated for newcomers; it would be great if the hosts provided an alternative solution or simpler instructions for guests staying just 2–3 days. Lastly, having a few basic kitchen essentials like salt and sugar would be a wonderful touch.

El dormitorio es pequeño, apenas hay espacio para las dos camas. El baño es tambien pequeño.

The apartment was in a great location and the appliances were excellent. It was silent. The bed was very confortable. For pillows, one of them was good (there were only two). However, the apartment is smaller than it appears in the photos.

The guest experience felt more bureaucratic than welcoming. Communication was polite but very impersonal, often feeling like I was talking to a bot. I also found it frustrating that I seemed to be speaking with a different person each time, and I often had to follow up repeatedly to find out whether my requests would be accommodated. Some practical information was missing. There were no instructions about where the recycling containers were located, nor that a card was required to access the recycling bins.
