Anvil Cottage

Everything about this place was fantastic. It was the best equipped and cleanest place we have ever stayed in. We even were given some fruit bread and eggs as a welcome gift, plus some lovely flowers. The owner was lovely too and so very helpful. 100% is too low a score for this cottage.

Nothing it was perfect

The cottage had everything we needed for a family of four with two young boys. Cooking dinners was easy, the kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Location of the property was ideal for us as we like to travel around a lot, I highly recommend a trip into uphill Lincoln.

Struggled to get consistent hot water, but it wasn't a big issue.

The owner Andy met us on arrival and gave us a full tour of the property and useful information about dog walks etc. The cottage is very spacious with two double bedrooms, a large, comfortable lounge and a very well equipped kitchen diner.

Firstly, being told that we would have mice in the kitchen wasn't a great start! The fixtures and fittings are old and dated and some of the white goods in the kitchen don't work properly and need replacing. We were booked to stay for over 3 weeks, but after a few days we started to have problems with the heating, the owner did his best to resolve the situation, eventually getting an engineer to look at it, but after 10 days and being without heating or hot water we were forced to find alternative accommodation.
