The Beach House and 2 appartments for full or separate rental, all with a private beach

We stayed in ‘the white house’, a separate, self-contained house on the premises with a bedroom with shower, toilet and living room/kitchen. There are also two rooms attached to the owners’ house with a shared kitchen and toilet (accessible via the communal outdoor area). The beach house is well-equipped with a large freezer, fridge, kettle, nespresso machine, electric hob, washing machine and dishwasher (although broken during our stay). The bedroom is airconditioned and there is excellent Wifi. The true highlights of ‘the Beach House’ are its virtually private beach - in fact one of the few beaches on the entire island, and its secluded setting. The beach is one of the official snorkelling sites of the island (‘Twelve Guns’) and the sea is easily accessible. The sandy bottom has a plethora of volcanic rocks with coral and abundant marine life. The owners are not on site all year around, but very welcoming and helpful. The property is about half an hour’s walk from the centre of Oranjestad.

The property would benefit from a few repairs of minor issues to create the absolute ‘wow’ factor. Please note that the property can be a little bit hard to find, especially in the dark. I recommend contacting the owners well in time - perhaps at the time of booking - to agree arrangements with regards to directions, preferences and payment. As it stands, booking.com cannot process payments to Statia via their website.

St. Eustatius vond ik een prachtig, authentiek en groen eiland dat nog niet door massatoerisme is ontdekt. Het appartement ligt midden in het groen, op de 'White Wall', met een prachtig uitzicht op zee. Toch zijn het dorp en enkele goede restaurants vlakbij. Het appartement was ruim, comfortabel en voorzien van alles wat we nodig hadden. Ook het contact met de eigenaar verliep heel prettig.

Die Lage mit dem eigenen Strand ist einfach sensationell, die Unterkunft war wunderschön und es gab viele schöne kreative Details

Het appartement zag er goed uit.

Vooruit betalen terwijl op de site stond per creditcard op de locatie. Hierdoor was het nodig Booking.com in te schakelen om de betrouwbaarheid te controleren. De omgeving zag er ietwat verwaarloosd uit. De aangeboden ligstoelen waren niet van kussens voorzien. Niet werkende apparatuur. Slechts 2 baddoeken, geen gastendoeken, theedoeken (wel de haken), te weinig toiletpapier, geen drinkglazen.
