I came for one week and ended up staying for three! It looks a bit rough from the outside, but don’t let that put you off. It’s a simple place with a really nice, relaxed feel. The furniture is solid wood rather than plastic, which makes it feel much more homely. The bedroom has air conditioning and there’s a fan in the living room. It’s about a 10-minute walk to Asala Square, with a small shop just around the corner for water and basic essentials. The host checked in to make sure everything was OK and was friendly and helpful. The neighbours were lovely too.

The outside and entrance don’t make the best first impression, and it’s hard to find. The back garden could be made into a nice space if someone were staying longer.

I had a great stay at the Cage. Yousef was very helpful with anything I needed. The room is comfortable, I used the kitchen as well and it was very useful to have a table to use (which hotels in the area don't tend to have). Great shower, modern A/C, loads of storage space, reliable WiFi. It truly was a home away from home and it was so so helpful as a base during my two weeks stay. The location worked for me, a quiet residential corner but a small walk from Assalah square (shops, grocers, café). A little longer of a walk (20 min) from the house and you're in the centre of it all (or loan a bike, as many do).

A real cozy stay at the Cage, Everything is same as the picture. Very quiet place for sleeping. The market is just 5 minutes walk. Comfortable bed. Yousef was so nice and so friendly. Definitely want to come back again. Strongly recommend.
