The Sea Martin

The location is very good and well positioned, with private parking for two cars. The yard / courtyard is generous, very shady and pleasant - there is an area with a table and some very comfortable sofas where you can sit in the shade. There is air conditioning in every room and a TV with Netflix inside.

The house smelled very strongly of mothballs inside. Outside, in the yard, it smelled of cat excrements. The furniture is 20-30 years old, with broken handles. The shutters in some of the rooms couldn't be closed because they were broken. The doors wouldn't close because of the handles, or they did close but had zero sound insulation. The window in the living room couldn't be closed. The door of the biggest bedroom wouldn't close at all because the handle was broken and we had to fix it ourselves. One of the bedrooms was extremely small - it only fits the bed and two nightstands, with a closet where you couldn't store anything because of the strong mothball smell. In one of the bedrooms, the ceiling fan was wobbling heavily and looked like it was not properly fixed to the ceiling - it felt unsafe. We were told there is a private beach, but there was no beach at all due to the high sea level. Although it is advertised as a pet-friendly property and we announced we were coming with a small dog, we were not informed that the property is invaded by about 6-10 cats that showed up daily. The second bathroom is not inside the house, it is outside in the yard. The kitchen is fully equipped, but it was quite dirty. We booked Sea Martin which had a perfect 10 score on Booking, so for the price we paid we expected something completely different. It's a pity, because the house has huge potential thanks to its position and generous yard, but the owner should really invest in new furniture and proper maintenance. At the moment, it does not reflect the price and does not deserve a 10.
