About this cabin rental

“CRAZY BEAR COVE" is nestled in the Dandridge on Douglas Lake. It is situated on top of a hill and has access to your own private cove.

When you enter this 2700 square foot cabin, you will see the spacious great room with gorgeous vaulted wood ceilings and wood floors. This room offers a pool table, a large oversized comfy couch, a large flat screen TV with Blu-ray DVD (selection of DVD movies) for your enjoyment and complete cable package. For even more fun, there is a video game whiskey barrel table with 60 games, making the perfect place for socializing and making unforgettable memories!

The kitchen is very large with granite countertops, a full size refrigerator AND full size freezer, as well as a beverage fridge. There is a high bar with four bar stools and a large farmhouse table that can seat up to 10 people, accommodating your entire group for meals, conversation and fun! In the morning, enjoy a coffee from the complimentary coffee bar. From the kitchen, walk out the deck to start the gas grill or head down to the amazing fire pit to make S’mores and breathe in the fresh mountain air while gazing at the stars!

The master bedroom has a king bed, a flat screen TV, Blu-ray DVD player, couch and it’s own private bathroom. Walk out the master bedroom to the large screened-in porch with lots of comfortable seating. Enjoy your drinks on the Bistro table while having a view of the lake! The covered deck is especially nice if you get a little Tennessee rain.

The main level also offers two guest bedrooms, both with a king bed and a flat screen TV. Just outside each of the bedrooms, are two separate bathrooms with a shared shower/tub.

The beautiful loft overlooks the great room and sleeps 7, offering a bunk bed with a twin over queen, three twin beds and a twin trundle. Also, a TV area with video game port for kids to hang out (just bring your own game console).

You will find fun board games, card games, poker chips, and DVD's for your enjoyment along with high speed internet and 4/5 TVs have the largest Dish Network cable package. For those guests having to do some remote work we have a work zone station with a desk off the kitchen. Recently, hi-speed, fiber optic internet has been installed in the cabin. Please remember that you will be in the peaceful mountains and cell phone service can be spotty, however, the internet is fast and reliable!

Crazy Bear Cove is located about 35 minutes from Pigeon Forge, making it far enough away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to enjoy the attractions of the area. The drive is a beautiful one and you may even see a black bear with her cubs. Other attractions in the area include Clingman’s Dome (the highest point in TN) about 1.5 hours, Cades Cove about 1 hour and 45 minutes and various hiking trials which offer a varying degree of difficulty, some offering paved paths, and view of waterfalls.

This cabin is highly maintained and loaded with amenities. It is the perfect spot anytime of the year! The home is perfect for 2-3 families to share making it extremely affordable! You will make unforgettable memories at Crazy Bear Cove! You’ll enjoy it so much you will want to make this your yearly, home away from home! We are located in a fairly private area with retired couples around us. It is a very quiet neighborhood and the home is best suited for those who enjoy the same atmosphere.

Douglas Lake sits at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains with over 60 miles/about 30,000 acres of water and is rated as one of the top 10 lakes in the Country for bass fishing. You will find also Crappie, Catfish and Bluegill……
So bring your fishing poles!
In the off season, enjoy searching for "Douglas Diamonds."

******VERY IMPORTANT*****
THIS PROPERTY HAS SEASONAL WATER. WATER IS ACCESSIBLE AT THE COVE FROM THE END OF APRIL UNTIL MID SEPTEMBER. The property does offer a view of the lake (from the side of the property) for a couple months before and after the seasonal water.
This information is for water months at the Cove….
The Cove seems like your own private playground. Our dock is the only in the cove so there is no need to worry about other boat traffic. You can float, boat, fish, paddle and swim until your heart is content. We do offer three kayaks for your use. You will have your own floating dock with swim ladder and a private pier with comfortable Adirondack chairs to relax and chill! Summer water depth in the Cove is 10 to 15 feet deep. The walk down to the water is mostly stoned and in a zigzag pattern to assist with the steepness of the hill, however, this is a “walk” for some. Bring your boat or rent a boat from one of the local marinas.

*Indoor fireplace is closed for the summer months
* Please note, there is NO VAPING/SMOKING OF ANY TYPE.
*NO PET/ANIMALS (no exceptions). If you arrive with a pet animal, your access code will be deleted and reservation will be cancelled without refund.
*No Parties. Your group will be held financially responsible for any damage done to the property during your stay.
*There are security cameras ONLY on the exterior of the property for security purposes. By booking, you are consenting to the use of working security cameras outside the cabin.

Fantastic experience never had an issue with anything. There was a few small problems throughout the stay but the owner was right on top of everything.

This home was perfect and in a wonderful location for our family vacation. We had three families staying at the house. My parents (2), my brother and his family (3), and my family (6). We loved all the games that this home had to offer. We all loved the wall connect four and wall chess game. The barrel arcade game was a blast as well. Angie has thought of everything to make your stay great. The kitchen was fully stocked, and it was easy to make dinner and breakfast every day. We had plenty of room for all us to eat around the table or at the bar. The sofa was comfortable to watch movies in the evening with the whole family. Our family went boating one day on Douglas Lake, went hiking to the Midnight Swimming hole, Alum Cave Hike, and spent a day in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. I highly recommend staying here!

3 generations gathered here for a summer getaway that included boating, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, and rollercoaster riding—all from this secluded cabin. The accommodations are wonderful and it puts you right near all the “stuff” without being in the middle of all the people. The rooms are big and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen and grill were great for preparing our own meals. Bring your own water toys or use theirs! You’re all alone while you’re there and 30-40 minute drives gets you to any excursion. We loved it!

Great stay. Beautiful cabin in a very private cove. It was a perfect escape. Very clean, the hosts were extremely accessible and accommodating, the property was great for swimming, fishing, kayaking, sitting by the fire pit, relaxing together to watch a movie. They have lots of fun games from video games to board games, a pool table, and more. Close enough for day trips to pigeon forge/gatlinburg area.
