About the Company
My name is Susanne Hailer; I’m from Munich and have been living in Crete for many years. This is our first operating season after many years of pouring our heart and soul and hard work into this project. We always strive to improve, optimize our facilities, and enrich your experience. We look forward to receiving feedback and ideas from our first guests. We’re happy to answer any questions you may have.
Room description
Alargos
Alargos is the most private of our villas and features a double bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table, a sleeper sofa, and a spacious bathroom. The veranda offers complete privacy and comfortable outdoor furniture, with a view of the mountain range across the valley and its small villages. The house has a living area of 44 m². In addition, the house is equipped with modern amenities such as a smart TV, air conditioning, a coffee maker, a toaster, a kettle, a hair dryer, free internet, and complimentary toiletries.
Accommodation Information
Our newly built stone villas are located on the southeastern coast of Crete, overlooking the coastal village of Mirtos. From the privacy of your own terrace, you can enjoy the perfect Mediterranean experience, nestled among fragrant pine and olive trees, with the vast blue sea at your feet. The night sky provides the perfect backdrop if you’d like to spend the night under the stars. In the morning, you’ll be gently awakened by the rosy light of dawn, reflected on the surrounding mountains to the west. Homes Our four detached homes, each with its own unique character, are the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life, without having to sacrifice any comfort. You’ll find that our homes are equipped with fast, free Wi-Fi, smart TVs, and air conditioning. Each of our houses features a new, fully equipped kitchen with all the cooking utensils you need, for those who enjoy cooking for themselves. The traditional construction method—with 60-cm-thick walls made of locally sourced stone—and our thermally insulated windows and doors provide protection from the summer heat. We want comfort and convenience to be accessible to everyone, which is why two of our houses, Uranos and Alargos, are wheelchair-accessible. In two of our houses, Uranos and Astir, you have the opportunity to sleep under the stars on your rooftop terrace in complete privacy. Between the last two houses is a covered terrace that invites you to practice yoga or simply relax in one of our hammocks. In our kafenion, you can wind down the evening with a glass of wine. We recommend using a 4x4 vehicle.
Information about the area
Southeastern Crete is the ideal vacation destination, as it is one of the increasingly rare, still-undiscovered corners of our beautiful island. Near our villas, there are numerous hiking trails, Minoan paths, and the famous Sarakina Gorge. On your hikes, you’ll be accompanied by the scents of Crete: thyme, oregano, and pine. Cistus flowers bloom in every color along the roadside. Just a five-minute drive from our hotel lies the coastal village of Mirtos, where you can experience the hospitality of the locals firsthand. It’s located right on the beach, which is named after the village. There you’ll find a small supermarket, a shop selling local fruits and vegetables, a bakery, and a butcher shop. The many local taverns offer delicious traditional dishes at affordable prices. The numerous cafés provide a magnificent view of the sea, which perfectly complements the delicious local delicacies. You can also have your coffee served right to your beach chair. For those who prefer a quieter spot, there are plenty of places in the shade of old tamarisk trees. For the more adventurous visitor, our hotel is the perfect starting point for mountaineers and hikers. We are surrounded by many picturesque villages and hiking trails that invite you to hike or take a stroll. A variety of sandy beaches with crystal-clear water are just a stone’s throw away. One of our popular day trips leads to the unspoiled island of Chrissi via the town of Ierapetra. Ierapetra, known for its beautiful harbor promenade, is just a ten-minute drive away and is well worth a visit, as it offers a wealth of historical sites that reflect the island’s rich history from antiquity to the present day. The small coastal town of Agios Nikolaos is located on the north coast, 44 km from Mirtos. It is famous for its harbor.
