Simply a great cabin to relax and unwind in.

Everything was great. There were only two of us and the location, interior, and exterior spaces exceeded expectations. Fireplace was a huge plus. Place was close to town and the oak trees on the property really added a nice touch to our fall getaway.

Sheets slept a little warm, other than that, no complaints. Everything else was super quaint and nice.

Me and my little family loved absolutely everything about this beautiful little cabin in the small town of idyllwild ! There is a family / game room the kids loved us adults loved the fireplace because we enjoyed a little thunderstorm ⛈️ while we was there ! Can’t want to be back in December!

Clean, comfortable, spacious, kept cool inside even without the a/c ( there is a window a/c unit in the living room but we didn’t need it), spacious front deck surrounded by tall trees very relaxing, well located just outside of the main town and close to Strawberry Creek, loved all the vintagy quirks of the house like little storage spaces where you don’t expect them and the window in the closet. Good communication with host.

Nothing to dislike- only thing we could have used but didn’t find was aluminum foil and another dish towel to dry dishes.

An Idyllwild gem.

The whole experience from beginning to end was fabulous. John and Lara were great hosts. Very accessible, checking in on us, and making sure we had everything we needed. The Cabin is so homey and quiet with all the comforts you need. Easy walk to town. We will definitely return.

Peaceful cabin close to town and trails!

Close walk to town and Idyllwild Park with trails. Even though it’s on a corner, it’s a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Comfortable bed, crispy comfy sheets. Great kitchen with a door that opens to patio deck. WE LOVED THE PATIO DECK - sat out there most of the time - doggie loved it too.

Deck could use a gate since it allows dogs and there is not a fenced yard. Screens could use a cleaning of the spider webs 😁.

Peaceful Stay

It snowed over a foot while we were there in early March. Our host coordinated with someone to help get our car out of the plowed in snow banks. We very much appreciated that.

Fantastic hosts with great communication! Cozy old cabin in a super location; easy 10–15 minute walk to town or a quick few minutes’ drive. Cabin has plenty of space and everything you may need to cook and relax and is in a quiet but easily accessible location. Loved our stay.

Our experience was very enjoyable, we would book the AWAHNEE Cabin on a future visit to Idyllwild.

We appreciated the cleanliness throughout. The labels all over the cabin were very helpful. We found it as described. We enjoyed the deck. Plenty of good quality towels. We appreciated the spices, tea, coffee, etc. provided in the kitchen.

The railings going up to the bedroom on the second floor were loose, a potential hazard We could have used more washcloths.

Comfortable stay at a great location

Great location. Beautiful half acre lot to sit or play in. Very clean. Beds are very comfortable. They provide books, games, movies, even bikes. The host is super supportive and prompt in answering all our questions.

With six people in the party, I didn't realize that there were only 1.5 baths till we arrived. This was an oversight on my part. Everything else was perfect!

The location is fabulous. A quick and easy walk to the center of town, easy to get to and the house is perfect! We planned an impromptu, last minute weekend getaway for the family to have a first time snowball fight!! What an ideal setting and everything you need is right here in this beautiful home! The separation of spaces, wonderful family/eating area and game room for the kids were so special, we extended our visit and look forward to many more weekend adventures in this snowy paradise so close to Palm Desert! We highly recommend!

The cabin was very cozy and comfortable. The location was perfect with a pleasantly short walk to town.

The basement room did not match the quality of the main floor and upstairs. It was like an afterthought space to shuffle kids off to play video games.
