On the ground floor there is also plenty of space in the games room with a pool table and darts, perfect for a fun get-together. Pazin is a small, historically rich town that has a lot to offer and is only about 30 kilometres away from other tourist towns. For centuries, Pazin was the strongest Habsburg fortress in the area and the headquarters of the former prince. You can still visit this medieval castle (Kastel) today, as it is well preserved. Today it houses the Ethnographic Museum of Istria and the Museum of the Town of Pazin. You can also visit churches in this area, as six of them are protected by the Croatian Cultural Heritage. One of them, the Church of St Mary in Beram (between Pazin and Porec), is world-famous for the Istrian fresco of the Dance of Death from 1474.
