There is a barbecue in the carefully tended garden where you can prepare delicious meals to enjoy with your family and friends. Its medieval town center is situated on a hill above the fertile valley of the longest river in Istria, the Mirna. Today, Buzet is widely known as the town of truffles, as the forests along the Mirna are particularly rich in these wonderful tubers. According to some, the white truffles of Istria are comparable to the white truffles of the famous truffle region of Alba in Italy. In honor of this, the famous truffle festival takes place every year in September and October. On the second weekend in September, there is a very special attraction in Buzet - a gigantic omelette (also known as a fritada). Over 2000 eggs and 10 kg of truffles are cooked in a huge pan. This event marks the official start of the truffle season.
