The Moon Boutique Hotel Cat Ba

The location couldn't be any better. You can walk to everything. The hotel andnroom our very modern, tastfully decorated and very clean. It was the most comfortable beds we've slept on in 8 months travelling through SEA. The breakfasts were cooked to order and very tasty. The staff is all super friendly and professional. Highly recommend the place and we would definitely stay here again.

It was a grate hotel with nice rooms. Stuff was attentive they also offer tour with Catba Ventures which is their parent company. Trip is just amazing I am recommending it to everyone. Breakfast in hotel is choice from options really great with also more western options. It's good value for money go for it.

I booked and paid for The Moon Deluxe — ocean (partial view) with a king bed through Agoda. When I arrived, the hotel did not honour the room I had booked and instead tried to give me a completely different twin room. I then spent more than an hour sitting at reception while staff repeatedly said they could not resolve anything and requests to speak to the manager was not possible due to the manager being unavailable. Rather than taking responsibility and sorting out the problem with Agoda themselves, I was left to chase Agoda and deal with the mess. Even after Agoda became involved and offered a solution, the hotel continued to make the situation unnecessarily difficult. At one point they would not even provide the alternative twin room without further payment, despite the fact that I had already paid for my accommodation. They asked me to make additional payment multiple times during my partial stay, even though I had paid for the room in full ahead of time. The next morning, while I was preparing to leave early for a 8am cruise, the hotel only advised me at 7:48am telling me to check out. After all the stress they had already caused, there was still absolutely no sense of apology, accountability or concern for the inconvenience. I ultimately stayed only one night and had to find another hotel last minute, wasting a significant amount of my limited time on Cat Ba dealing with a booking problem that should have been handled professionally by the hotel. Booking errors can happen. The way this hotel treated the situation is the reason for the one-star review. The customer service was appalling, communication was poor, and I was made to feel as though their booking problem was somehow mine to solve. I stayed in many hotels throughout Vietnam and had overwhelmingly positive experiences with the staff. The Moon Boutique Hotel was easily the worst customer-service experience of my trip. I would absolutely not stay here again and would not recommend anyone else to stay at this hotel. Pity because the room was actual quite nice. Pity about the terrible customer service.
