This is a lovely village in the upper foothills of the Voges Mountains roughly between Colmar and Mulhouse. Bernard the owner lives very close by. So was always there if any issues eg a door lock needed a tweak. The house is a large four bed traditional family home with wood panelling upstairs. As such it certainly isn't modern but has everything you need and would expect. We would say the master bed may need replacing as quite low and noisy. Otherwise all good especially the terrace area for eating, bbq and lounging in the morning sun. For mid to end of June it got very warm 30c and humid at times with a big storm one night. But there is so much to do in this area rain or shine. Storks vineyards mountains woods rivers. A walkers and cyclists paradise. Nearest towns Soultz and Guebwiller have shops and lots of nice places to eat/drink. But several big Supermarkets also within 20 min drive. Saltzbourg and Basel are close. And the village of Eguisheim is beautiful. We drove into Germany into the Black Forest to Triburg and bought a cuckoo clock. Also south to Rhinefelden. And the motor museum in Mulhouse is amazing. But just walk and walk - so many paths and tracks on your doorstep to explore. Our dog loved it. This is a wonderful place to base yourself and do all this, Thank you to Bernard for all his help and the very nice local wine in the fridge! Highly recommended . The Alsace region is well worth a visit. So easy to fly or drive here from the UK
