About this cottage rental
Conveniently located at the crossroads of HWY 224 and SE Lake Road, our home, cottage and garden are the last remnants of a time gone by and what was once a large family farm.
When you walk through the private gate leading to the cottage, you might feel you have stepped through a portal into another time. Everything about the cottage is secluded, peaceful and private.
Decorated throughout with stain glass and treasures from the past, the cottage also is equipped with High Speed WIFI internet and a smart TV. We are very pleased to have so many repeat visitors, many who have family in the area. The garden features a waterfall, chairs and table, BBQ and fresh herbs.
Should you feel inspired by the many farmers markets in our area, we have a fully equipped kitchen with most appliances, plates, and silverware and a fully stocked lauder and pantry. We have a 3 night minimum stay. One thing to note, although we do not have any walkable sidewalks near the cottage, restaurant, stores, the river, and other areas are all close by with a quick drive.

We truly loved our time here. It was the perfect place to relax unwind and enjoy a couple of days away. We already know that the next time we’re in the area will be hoping this cottage is available because we would love to go back outstanding hosts wonderful communication thanks for all of the sweets and supplies that were provided. Would recommend 10 out of 10.

My favoritist VRBO ever!! The thoughtfulness of the hosts to provision everything we could possibly need to be able to enjoy a great trip to Portland was beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. Bed was comfy, space was excellent, kitchen was stocked, decor was fun - great base for us to explore all around Portland. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here if I am able to come back to the area…

The Hawaiian Cottage was one of the most memorable stays of my Oregon trip. The Hawaiian theme was warm, unique, and carried through in all the details—from the gardens to the decor to the overall vibe of the place. You can feel the creative spirit behind it.I was especially grateful for the incredible spread of food and thoughtful provisions left for me—far beyond what I expected and very much appreciated after long days on the motorcycle. It felt less like a rental and more like being welcomed into someone’s personal retreat.I also enjoyed learning more about the host’s fascinating background in publishing, real estate, and comic book artistry/storyboarding. There’s a lot of life and character built into this place.My only note for future guests is that the booking structure could be a little clearer regarding the three-night minimum. I only stayed two nights but was charged for three, and I didn’t realize that at booking. That’s not a complaint so much as a suggestion for clarity so others know upfront. In reality, they probably stuffed the cubbards and refrigerator with enough food that the third night was a wash..Overall, a beautiful, generous, and memorable stay. I’d gladly recommend it.
