Folkestone Ramblers Rest

Very cozy and welcoming. Very comfortable beds and sofas. Great space. Great water pressure. Accommodation is packed with more than what's required. Great location, close to everything in town and coast! Great Hosts! Thank you also to the cleaning lady! Thanks for putting up with us! Very accommodating. The nearby nightlife seems great if you have time for it. Friendly residents in general area. Also a great spot for fishing nearby!

Weren't sure about the parking area, but figured it out. It was literally on the street on the opposite side accross from the property. We arrived late so, didn't want to disturb the hosts. Would recommend a larger freezer space in the hot weather we had, maybe a small extra freezer that is there if needed to be switched on by guest in case of heatwave. The only things that would otherwise make sense is to add a toilet in the master bedroom en suite, and a privacy film on bathroom window (for sharing the property with different couples, etc. as it's accross from the bedroom window).

It was perfect for an overnight stay before catching LeShuttle. Easy to find and the communication from Nic prior to our stay was great. He also responded quickly when I messaged to ask about WiFi passwords. Fans in the bedroom were great as it was a super hot day. The rooms were lovely, especially the top room, it was modern and light.

The area wasn’t great. I know this is beyond the owner’s control, but there was a strong smell of weed across the road, litter everywhere and it felt a little bit unsafe walking to the shop (it was bank holiday and lots of drunk people, so this may have been unusual). We were very grateful that it was pet friendly and this is the main reason we chose this accommodation, but there is nowhere to let your pet out, we had to take the dog down the road before bed, and as I said, this felt a little unsafe. Again, I’m aware there’s not much can be done about this, but it would’ve been good to know in advance. There was a musty smell inside the property and it was very functional, but, as I say, great for an overnighter. There was no lock on the bathroom door, only half a loo roll was left (4 of us were staying) a damp towel was left hanging in our room. Only one pillow each was left too, had to use cushions from the lounge to bolster them a little. The bedroom window did not close - it was open when we arrived and we could not shut it. Not a problem in the ridiculous heat we experienced, but could be an issue when colder Maybe a little guest pack explaining WiFi codes, how to use TV etc would have been useful. In the guidelines, it said to take note of the way to sort rubbish, but we couldn’t see these anywhere.
