Spacious Apartment Downtown Albany, NY

Great room, very spacious. Very comfy sofa and the tv has Netflix. We spent the night just chilling and talking at home cus the room was very nice. The host was very responsive and accommodating.

I was a 1st time visitor to Albany & didn't know what to expect. As a South Floridian, we don't have hills, so the uphill walks were challenging, at times. I found myself stopping (a lot) to catch my breath. The location itself was fine. You have an entire floor to yourself! The pictures on the website do not do this property justice. It's actually quite big & spacious (maybe 1,000 sq. ft?). Huge bedroom with (I believe, a king size) poster bed. Clean bathroom. Great living space. Two TVs (one in the bedroom, other in the living room). Total privacy.

It's an old building (no elevator) so prepare to walk up to the 3rd floor. It took me about 10 minutes to walk up & down the stairs to take three bags to the top floor. it's a winding staircase, the stairs are very narrow & have a bit of a tilt. The fact that the washing machine had a perfumed laundry detergent added to the pre-wash was a small problem. I had to completely wash out the laundry receptacle, as I only use a free & clear detergent (which I just happen to always travel with). Not everyone likes fragrances, so maybe don't assume otherwise? Better safe than sorry. For the bathroom, again, they only provide fragranced body wash & hand soaps, so if you don't like or can't use it on your body, bring your own. (I did.) Also, there's a brand new microwave, but for some reason, it wouldn't work. Thankfully, they provided a back up. That's really it. These things aren't bad, though. And by no means, I'm not complaining about the apartment. It's just tiny, minute details that didn't work (for me). Ultimately, everyone will have a different experience. I give the place itself a 10/10. Everything else is personal preference only. The only thing I'd really do to make it more enjoyable is eliminate the fragrancy stuff. Just sayin'.
