Hangetsu Niseko

Clean, comfortable beds and plenty of room to relax after a day buried in powder. Good cooking facilities and the Niseko Portfolio staff were spot on.

The location was perfect! Walking distance to pretty much anything; restaurants, bars, onsens, etc… They also provided a free shuttle to/from the mountain, which we would take in the morning, and then walk home from the mountain after riding all day while stopping at convenience stores for snacks and drinks along the way.

great location. not too far from the hot spot area like Grand Hirafu. Free and timely shuttle bus options to tourist area. Friendly front desk staff and great communication to respond to your needs.

We liked the spacious closet and bathrooms for storing clothes and toiletries. Kitchen was well stocked with plates, silverware, glasses, cookware, a normal-size fridge, stove, little oven, and microwave. Plenty of space for ski gear too, including a separate storage unit for skis/snowboard/poles. Management company was accessible by WhatsApp and we arranged a drop-off with luggage to where our bus stop (to return to Sapporo). This would have been a massive hassle otherwise. The property also has separate shuttle buses for getting around town and to the slopes, which was helpful given that the Grand Hirafu (local free) bus was often too full by the time it got to the pickup spot near Hangetsu

It’s an STUDIO apartment, not a one-bedroom apartment. We had even messaged the property asking if the bedroom had a door that shut and they incorrectly said yes. There is no bedroom door. We asked before inviting my sister to stay as a third person and separately paid an additional ~$377 to ensure the couch folded out into a bed and to have a third towel etc. When showering, the water spills out of the shower and all over the floor. There’s a half glass section and drain just outside the tub to reduce the spill, but it still gets everywhere. There’s a TV but no cable or channels really. We could connect Apple TV and Netflix, but Hulu, Peacock and several other services we use in the US were blocked. We logged out several personal Netflix etc. profiles which was not straightforward to do. There’s an exit sign that lights up the entire studio apt. At night. We put a ski beanie hat to cover most of it as the property wasn’t able to turn off the bright light.
