It was a very nice place to use as a base for my 6 days in Hanoi. Lovely garden to relax in. A blend of chic modern apartment and grannie chintz. Some nights, I'd just get beers from the shops, cook in the kitchen and chill in the garden. The local area has a nice vibe and not touristy but still has a couple of cafes and restaurants- even a middle eastern one with great flafels! It's not too far to walk to the centre and on a bus route but I rented a bike which made it really easy to get to lots of areas. (Good experience of urban cycling is advised though before you throw yourself into Vietnam traffic!) The owner spoke really good English which helps and was a friendly chap.

Nothing major but it took a while to figure out how to cook as half the appliances didn't work. Kitchen could be great with a bit of an overhaul. It's listed as 24 hour reception but nobody is there full time or indeed most the time. The owner doesn't live there, has a young family and another job so you need a bit of patience and to arrange when to check and ideally have a local sim card. There was a mix-up with the price which is something maybe booking.com need to sort out as apparently they keep offering a lower price. We had to renegotiate which wasn't a great start to be honest but even so, I thought it was worth it. The location difficulty has been mentioned but basically it's not the alley with murals on but the one with pale green walls

The Cosy Room at 1.Home is perfect for a getaway in Hanoi. The local neighbourhood has lots of great spots to eat and the Old Quarter is easily accessible on foot (~35 mins). Moreover, our hosts went above and beyond to help us with local recommendations and assisting with our laundry at a reasonable rate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be back in a heartbeat.

Fun location, kitchen and courtyard were very nice.

The private bathroom in our room was mouldy and had a terrible smell to it.
