I stayed multiple days, and every day, walked about 7 min to BART, then out from there to the rest of the Bay Area. Very convenient!! Felt safe enough walking alone for a confident single white male. The immediate neighborhood was very pleasant, lots of two-story multi-unit apartment buildings, with about ten feet of well-maintained landscaping btw the sidewalk and the building, giving a nice look and feel. The next street over feels much sketchier. I did not have a car, so I walked every time I left. The first day, walking to breakfast, there was fresh car window glass on the pavement, which happens anywhere in Oakland, though perhaps less so when parking off street, which I think would work for a smallish vehicle. Walking back, someone was repairing the car window and said he had replaced it just a few months earlier. Lots of restaurants with enormous variety of cuisines 15-30 min walking. Nearest groceries 20 min walk.
The apartment is larger than expected. Very spacious with lots of windows and light. Building is not really "renovated" but feels well maintained. The owner clearly cares! The bath is tiny, and could be challenging for four people, quite small even for two. The secondary bedroom has bunk beds. Be aware there are stairs to climb if you have heavy suitcases. Was a bit cold the first night in January, but warmed up with heaters no problem after that.
Would like a different arrangement for the shower. Currently, it's in a free-standing tub, with a curtain all the way around, so I couldn't move without the curtain clinging to my body or arms, and a bit difficult to keep from water getting out onto the floor, such as when reaching for soap/shampoo. Maybe find a way to attach one side of the curtain to the wall? More places to put toiletries would be nice.
Kitchen seemed capable of real cooking, not just reheating or beverages, but no real place for four people to sit and eat (there are three beds). A drop-leaf table that folds out, and maybe good quality folding chairs would be nice.
Two large-screen TVs, but almost no local channels (a simple digital antenna would solve this). A guest can probably use their own streaming account with the WiFi.

El departamento estaba muy bien decorado, muy acogedor, espacios cómodos.
La tina del baño era incómoda, se derramaba el agua al ducharse.
La cama del dormitorio principal podría mejorar, las tablas de la base estaban caídas y el colchón era de espuma
