Albert's Transient House

The accommodation is reasonably priced and offers good value for money. However, it would be helpful to set clearer expectations regarding the distance of the transient house from the beach, and Wi-Fi is not available on the property. Overall, Sir Albert was responsive and very accommodating

My recent stay at this transient house in Calatagan, Batangas was largely disappointing and fell significantly short of expectations. While the owner was responsive and the air conditioning worked well, these were the only redeeming qualities in what was otherwise a very uncomfortable and unhygienic experience. Firstly, the listing photos were highly misleading. It appears they are a mix of different properties, and crucially, the photos showing a beach are not representative of this specific location. The house is situated near a port for floating cottages, not a recreational beach. We were also asked for an additional, expensive fee to use their floating cottages, which was not made clear upfront and was disproportionate to the house rental. The interior of the house felt more like staying in someone's personal home than a rented accommodation. There were numerous personal portraits (family, wedding, graduation) and wall decorations with family photos, which created an unsettling and eerie atmosphere. This feeling was compounded by the presence of personal belongings such as children's toys, books, and paintings, making it feel as if we were intruding rather than being welcomed guests. To add to the inconvenience, all the cabinets were chained locked, leaving us nowhere secure to store our belongings. Cleanliness was a major issue. The trash bin in the comfort room still contained trash, and there was a basket filled with used bar soaps. The wall cabinet in the CR held old hair products in a dirty, webbed condition. In the kitchen, there was significant oil splatter on the cupboards, and a bottle of used oil and old, used condiments were present, which is highly unhygienic and should have been discarded. Furthermore, basic amenities stated in the post were missing. There was no drinking water provided and no Wi-Fi, despite both being advertised as included. While I appreciate the owner's responsiveness and the effective air conditioning, these positives were overshadowed by the numerous issues regarding misrepresentation, lack of privacy and comfort, and poor hygiene. I hope these points can be addressed for future guests.

The place is okay for a group. The location is not beach front. We had some concern about the safety and security during our stay here. The morning after our first night, we lost a shoe (we thought, it was just the dogs; there are a lot of dogs in the area), but then, the valve caps of the tires of our car has been loosened up (we check our tires before we travel) and we lost 1 valve cap. The next morning, we lost jibbitz or crocs shoes. We informed the host, and he told us that he forgot to tell us to keep all our shoes inside and he even say that it was the first it happened, however, if it’s the first time it happened, why do they advice all their guest before to keep all their stuff inside? We ask for 2k refund but they only refunded 1k.
