About this house rental
This newly renovated, ranch style home, sits on a corner acre lot just across the road from many, many acres of unspoiled, all natural, wild land owned by The Nature Conservancy .... So you have ALLLLL the wildlife just outside your front door. Ideally located in the heart of the Poconos just 5 miles from the historic town of Jim Thorpe. Less than 1 mile from the built to rock music venue of Penn's Peak. Less than 5 miles from the Butterfly Farm and the Pocono Whitewater Rafting office. Just at 9 miles to that wonderful beach at Mauch Chunk Lake and just a tad over 6 miles to the beautiful Glen Onoko State Park. It's a hop-an-a-skip of 16 miles to the Pocono Raceway and Pocono Outdoor Adventure Tours. And the surround area offers sooooo much more outdoor activity, way too much to list on here. The house is fully wheelchair accessible with a ramp and open floor plan for easy getting around the home. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities you could want to create and serve fine meals for up to 12 ppl. Appliances include an electric 4 burner range with quick boil burners, a dishwasher, a double deep cast iron sink with goose neck spout, a microwave, hand mixer, blender, coffee maker, electric kettle, pour over coffee pot, a large and a small french press, a hand grind coffee grinder, a xl salad spinner, pots/pans, mixing bowls, measuring spoons/cups, baking dishes/pans, roasting pans, silverware and Corelle dishes service for 12 including pasta bowls, ample stemware for wine/cocktails, as well as some shatterproof drinking cups, coffee mugs, specialty sectioned plates, and much much more. *Note; we do not supply an air fryer as they are too difficult to keep clean. The dining room table is hand made, oversized and can easily seat 10 ppl with seating provided for up to 12. The house is full of murals and art to delight the senses and spark your curiosity. The living room is a loungers delight with two overstuffed swivel recliners, a 14 foot double~chaise 'oh-so-nappable' couch as well as two bucket style reading chairs ample floor space for games or whatnot as well as a 65" Google Smart TV with wireless high speed internet to accommodate all electronic items and entertainment. There are 2 bathrooms, first one is a walk in shower 'jack and jill' that connects the main house and the 'Van Gogh bedroom' where there is a starry night mural as well as starry night black out curtians in the bedroom that has 2 full beds with 2 twin over bunks, each with a set of stairs up to the bunk as well as a tucked away twin trundle bed. The second full bath is in the 'Monet bedroom' where there is a mural of one of his famous water lilies painting as well as other Monet prints ... this is a full attached bath complete with a 19' deep soaking tub *Note, the home is equipped with an on demand endless hot water system so multiple back to back showers are never a problem. The Monet room has a queen bed a sitting area as well and a tucked away twin trundle. Both bedrooms have privacy blinds and full drapery as well as a dresser. The home has a book case with board games, light reading, puzzles and whatnot. This home got its name "Pinkies Starlight Chateau" because of the gorgeous view of the stars at night.. With absolutely zero light pollution to dim out the lessers, the sky is just a beautiful blanket of sparkling wonder on clear nights .... The home has 2 outdoor seating areas, the front covered porch has *seasonal* rocking chairs and the back, uncovered deck is absolutely perfect for watching a meteor shower or grilling those summertime burgers. This is a VERY quiet neighborhood and we all wish to keep it that way so I please request that all outdoor activity be kept at a minimum and/or whisper quiet after 9 pm. *Note, human noise scares away the wildlife/birds that we love so much. thank you

We could not have asked for a better property for our family, including our adult son with disabilities. Not only was the cottage accessible and easy to navigate for our son, but everything about it was designed to make a guest feel comfortable. It was incredibly clean, beds were probably the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced in a rental property, and of course the artwork everywhere was just amazing — I never got tired of looking at all the interesting art, books, games, etc. We also enjoyed the wonderfully personal and humorous binder that the owner had put together to help educate guests about the property. The cottage is in a great, quiet neighborhood but extremely close to Penns Peak and just a quick ride into downtown Jim Thorpe. We would love to stay here again the next time we visit the Poconos!
