Marina di Petrolo Apartments

Great location at the end of the sea front promenade to town. Very helpful and attentive staff. Nice pool area. Nice sea view from the apartment balcony.

It is a shame that there is a run down building in front the apartment.

We stayed in a standard studio, and we were perfectly comfortable. It resembled the photos, and the air conditioning worked well. Other reviews have mentioned noise from the street, but we didn't find a problem. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Giuseppe, who is a treasure. Any online queries were met with an almost immediate response. The property is perfectly situated for going out at night and there is a mini market nearby. The outdoor and reception areas are very pleasant and well maintained. Castellomare del Golfo is beautiful, and perfect for a holiday whether you want a lively or quiet time. Our favourite things were the pool, hammock, jacuzzi and pool bar. There was also a pharmacy below the apartment. If we return to Castellomare del Golfo we would stay there again.

There were no blinds or net curtains, so if you want privacy in the day time you have to draw the curtains. It said in the list of room facilities that there was an iron, and there wasn't one, although to be fair I was told I would be supplied with one. The pool bar wasn't always open. It wasn't a problem for us, but if you have mobility problems be aware that the studio is up three flights of stairs with no lift. Apart from the lack of blinds, these were minor niggles.

Good location for wandering around and could park the car safely in the car park outside. Room was cleaned every day nicely. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was spartan and soulless and the kitchen tools very poor with one blunt carving knife, no chopping board and no mugs until we asked for some. Although the room was large enough the shower cabinet was very small and the drains smelly. The 'sea view' was a laugh from the apartments and hotel would have been better but we could see the car park nicely!
