I rang up to find that they no longer existed when I arrived. Booking.com said they would give me credit for booking somewhere else for still having it advertised as somewhere to stay and nada

This place is a scam - no one was there to greet me I called a number and was told I will be refunded as they have bugs This place is in a residential street No sign saying guesthouse etc Avoid ….

Nothing. I couldn't find the place at first as there is no signage to suggest it's a guest house. Even the address posted online is wrong. (Shown as No.1 - it's actually No. 3) No staff on site. Didn't get any sleep due to the "guest" in the next room being on the phone all night and generally crashing about - both nights - not to mention going in and out of the front door and closing it loudly a number of times. Racket in the kitchen at 6am. Pubic hair on the toilet bowl. Grubby bathroom. Crap location. (Run down property on a council estate) Executive lounge? What a joke. The picture that shows a "lounge" doesn't actually exist. It looks like the other half of the ground floor room I stayed in, which was occupied by some guy who was on the phone until 5.30am. (and separated only by a paper thin wall.) I've posted a pic. of the actual "lounge". That "guest" even brought his bike with him for his stay, and parked it in the "executive lounge." (See pic) There were at least two different phones ringing all night, which to me suggests some sort of nefarious activity going on. There was a "To Let" sign in the front garden so I rang the agency, and it appears this is a HMO (House of Multiple Occupancy) so I suspect it's full of benefit scroungers and the like, and when there is a spare room, the owners rent it out as a "Guest House". No wi-fi. No TV. No fire safety instructions/equipment. There was one CO alarm in the room, which is utterly pointless as there are no naked flames or appliances in the room. Any good reviews for this place have to be fake/owner's friends/paid for. I doubt this is even a legit guest house. Complete dog sh*te.

Everything. Apart from the fact there was a bed, that you could in theory get some sleep in, I got about two hours sleep max. over the two nights I was there.

That i truly had a private room

I didn't like that the place felt like the cheapest student housing I've ever lived in at a hotel pricepoint. The space is unnecessarily cramped (I had two beds in my room), the shower has little water blockage so it always makes a mess, and downstairs feels like the bare minimum a student would have to get by, not a professional guest house with specified amenities.

Basic accommodation, had no issues with the host. One or two issues with keys and locks but resolved and better system in place now. External areas could do with little more upkeep but to be fair it was winter. Kitchen facilities - hob, oven, toaster, kettle, fridge and washing machine, wifi all worked. Tv signal on Freeview needs a bit of fiddle with indoor mini aerial but got what needed and can hook up to Netflix etc with own account. No frills, is shared with other guests and is located reasonably for facilities and town and importantly is value for money on a budget.

Beds could have been a bit comfier, but I am fussy about mattress firmness.

Close location to shops, kitchen fully fitted. Washing machine available. You can relax in the garden or on sofa waching television.
