A secluded 12th century house with 5 double bedrooms, a swimming pool, terrace and 36-acres of ancient parkland.

Originally serving as a Commanderie for the Knights Templar, this home stands as a sentinel guarding the ancient pilgrimage route, El Camino de Santiago. The property is a fascinating tapestry of past and present, offering a splendid 36-acre estate of lush grasslands and ancient woodlands.
The ground floor of the house comprises of a large living/dining room with a wood burning stove, a kitchen and an office. The 1st floor has 2 en-suite bedrooms and a WC. The 2nd floor comprises of two bedrooms, one bathroom and a WC. There is also a cellar/laundry room and a pool house with a bed.
There is also Starlink internet with Wi-Fi Mesh, a gated drive and private parking.

Charming and spacious 12th century accommodation in a pastoral, secluded setting. Magical in many ways. One could just close one’s eyes and imagine the Knights Templar in the space.Delightfully decorated with pretty furnishings that fit the space and thoughtful art pieces.Host was very responsive as issues arose.Would have been nice to have a ground floor bedroom and bathroom. Not a suitable property for an elderly person or anyone who might have trouble with uneven surfaces or stairs with no railings.

The house is incredibly beautiful. The location in the Perigord Noir is wonderful. The property is huge and completely secluded. You have absolute peace and silence. You can enjoy the four terraces around the house at any time of day, depending on whether you want sun or shade. I spent hours just sitting there and enjoying myself. The almost thousand-year-old house has a very warm, authentic atmosphere. The house description provided by the very friendly Carles is detailed and helpful. I will definitely be back.
