Lake Life - Fishing and crabbing directly on Lake Pontchartrain

The location was exceptional! We had a great time fishing and enjoying subling fam time together! The pics online depicted the rental when newly built, but is now weather worn, but pier is well built and sturdy! The walk back and forth is not for "couch potatoes" bc the incline from pier to house can be challenging. The front stairs are steep, and could use step strips for depth perception safety, especially at night. There is a side ramp to pier but grassy area from concrete carport to ramp makes manuevering supply carts to ramp a little challenging, but the ramp was a plus for us! Ramp is not for couch potatoes either! As another reviewer noted, the house is in use when not rented bc "personal" belongings were left visible to renters and master had no closet to hang clothing. Other closets and laundry room were cluttered with "personal" owner belongings that prevented renter usage.The throws and blankets in living area were not for rental usage bc they were previous person usage scented. The kitchen drawers were typical owner usage clutter, but if you searched you could find things you needed. Bring your own toilet tissue, there was none in second bathroom. There were no towels in second bathroom, some well used ones in master. Check in and out was great! The owner was very responsive and helpful to us especially for location of outdoor light switches! Overall, our purpose was met, to fish & spend time with family. We enjoyed our stay and would book again!

We had a wonderful and fun time at this property! Dock is beautiful with georgous sunsets over the water. So nice and peaceful! The house is in a very quiet location in Slidell, but close to New Orleans and so many attractions. We caught a lot of fish off the dock. Owners were very helpful and responsive to any questions we had. Plenty of space in the house as well. We definitely plan on a return trip in a couple of years. My only suggestion for owners would be to have a guest book with wifi, local restaurants, etc. And to neaten up closets, drawers, and laundry room to clean up some of the clutter to allow guests to access areas to hang clothes, easier access to washer/dryer, and access to drawers for storage. This was a very minor inconvenience though! We still loved the house and area!

Beautiful property and the fishing was awesome!

We had the BEST time and thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights on the lakefront! Easy drive over the old bridge into NOLA but we only drove in once (to watch the Saints game) because we were having such a good time relaxing and enjoying the view, and so much fun catching fish and crabs that we didn't want to leave! The host is friendly, easy to communicate with, and very responsive. Check in was simple and although we couldn't take advantage of it, we were offered an early check in but we were asked to check out an hour earlier than advertised, which was still reasonable, 10am. The house was well appointed and was as pictured and described. Beds and bedding were comfortable. Remember all waterfront homes are raised, so expect to climb some stairs. There is a "ramped" access to the back of the house from the pier for those unable to climb stairs. The size and condition of the pier was amazing! Thankfully the weather cooperated so that we were able to spend most of our time outdoors, even "picniced' on the wooden bench set up on the pier. Guys were out til wee hours of the morning catching ALL kinds of fish at night with the lights. I wish we had put the traps out as soon as we arrivedl After only being in the water one night we caught 3 beautiful crabs too! I have family in Slidell who fish regularly - even they were impressed with the number and variety of fish we caught. Highly recommend staying on the northshore and enjoying LakeLife ! We are planning to return in the spring!
