OBX Getaway is a cozy and well-maintained soundside retreat located in Avalon Beach, the heart of Kill Devil Hills. The open-concept layout and vaulted ceilings make the great room feel spacious and airy. LVP flooring flows throughout the main level, including all three bedrooms. Outside, relax on the charming front porch with your morning cup of coffee or a cold beverage. Downstairs, the bonus room with comfortable seating, TV and board games can serve as an additional hangout space. It connects to the garage where you'll find a foosball table for hours of indoor entertainment, along with a second full-size fridge for storing extra groceries or the catch of the day. The ground level is equipped with a gas grill and outdoor dining set for BBQ's. In the evening, gather the family around the backyard fire pit and cook smore's while planning the next day's adventures.
Guests at OBX Getaway can walk or bike to the beach using the Fifth Street crosswalk and public access, less than a mile from the house. While you're there, visit the Avalon Fishing Pier where you can grab lunch at the Snack Shack or drinks at the Stonefish Beach Bar. On the west side of the neighborhood, take a short walk to the community sound access for launching kayaks and SUP's.
Centrally located at Milepost 6.5 in Kill Devil Hills, OBX Getaway is conveniently close to everything you'll need during your stay. Department stores, grocery stores, spas, a movie theater and coffee shop are within a mile radius. Nearby dining options include Awful Arthur's Oyster Bar, Chili Peppers and the Jolly Roger.
Can’t stay an entire week? OBX Getaway is available for short stays and offers flexible arrival/departure options for those who like to plan ahead. In-season partial week stays (three-night minimum) can be reserved months in advance, and guests can choose any day of the week for check-in and check-out.
No pets allowed - pet free. No smoking/vaping. Garage is not for vehicles.

The house was perfect for two adults and two teenagers. It was very clean when we arrived and very well stocked with kitchen equipment and dishes. The outdoor shower was very useful after a day at the beach. We would definitely return!

The property management office was terrible to get a hold of. We were a bit early because we had a new born, and night was the best time to drive. Long story short, we asked someone named Belinda if we could check in early, to which, she agreed and took my name and phone number. Not only was she rude about our request, but she ducked our calls and didn’t get back to us for 3 1/2 hours. We only got access after calling the emergency line, 3 times, with them knowing I had an infant and it was 100 degrees. The back yard was not mowed or landscaped so we couldn’t use the fire pit which was disappointing.
