About this house rental
The Cottage at Ruby Summit Point - Your Home at the Track. Comfy 2 bedroom cottage in Summit Point - minutes from Summit Point Motorsports Park! We welcome visitors to the track or just to explore the beautiful local area around Harpers Ferry/Shepherdstown or south into Virginia wine/horse country.
The Cottage is comprised of the Loft (King & Two TwinXLs), Full Bedroom downstairs, a living area with sofabed and TV, kitchenette, and bathroom with separate shower room and toilet room. Use of the backyard - firepit, picnic table, and grill. The cottage sits on our 3-acre property at the end of the road. Our private home and toy barn are also on the property.
The Cottage will be wholly and entirely yours! Plenty of parking right in front of the cottage.
Base price is for the first 3 guests. Guests with a dog will be charged an additional $100/stay/ for up to 2dogs and covers reasonable impact by animals that are following the house rules of no dogs on the furniture, must be house trained, etc. Property is nearby the local motorsports park and racing cars can be heard during the day off in the distance so if you are looking to do a yoga retreat this probably is not the best place for you!
A few notes:
- We do not ask you to clean ANYTHING upon departure.
- If you plan to have any gatherings with more people than are on the contract, please contact the us for prior approval.
- Pets must be specified on the reservation upfront, pay the applicable pet fee and abide by all House Rules.
- Some days, you can hear the racecars from Summit Point during the day as background noise. What you CANNOT hear (or feel) are the freight trains that come through Summit Point a few times a night.

The ruby cottage was super cute and welcoming. The yard was huge, very lush and well maintained. The fenced in area is shared with the main house and is beautiful with chair, fire pit, and lighting. Perfect for entertaining and hanging out in the evenings! I enjoyed hanging out under the willow near the cottage and my dog enjoyed exploring the yard and stone fence. There were even dog treats for him. Summit point race track is just on the other side of the tree line as mentioned in the ad, there could be noise from car/motorcycle racing but that doesn’t bother me as my husband races his motorcycle there all the time. There is a gravel road to get to the property but the driveway itself is paved. Beds were clean and comfortable. There is a mini split system for heat and AC and a large fridge. Pat and her husband were very responsive and welcoming and checked in on me before I got there as well as after my first day there. 10/10 would recommend staying here and will stay here again when I come back for my horse event in the spring! I loved the peace and quiet!
