Van Buren Gem 2.0

Nice little guest house in a prime location in Back Bay. Clean and well organized. A decent breakfast.

The double bed was quite narrow. The young man at the reception was not service-minded. Not unfriendly, just anaemic. He should learn from his more experienced colleague.

The location was good, very close to the train station, the neighborhood was also good, a lot of options of restaurants and markets. The host was extremely nice! I would definitely stay here again!

Everything was good!

Por decir algo lo único que cambiaría serían las sillas del comedor que son algo incómodas pero tiene incluso otra de repuesto así que genial!

Property was super clean, had all the basics already there, and very comfortable overall. The heating and hot water work perfectly and quickly so you won’t be cold while you’re there. Check-in and -out were easy and Marcelo, the host, is really helpful. Very close to the main street where all the buses pass by (and a 15 min walk away from Newark Penn Station). There’s a TV in the bedroom with all the streaming apps downloaded which is great. Recommend if you’re visiting NYC but want a cheaper alternative, since it’s only around a 45 minute commute. There’s also a bakery right on the corner of the street with great bread and coffee!

Two floors of stairs to get to the apartment so I wouldn’t recommend to someone who has trouble walking or is disabled. But if you’re able to go up, then I’d say it’s worth it!
