Chic Stay in Wortley – Walk to Downtown & Parks

Great location and good apartment layout. Fireplace as an added bonus.

The room was spacious, with good amenities. I had no real hygiene concerns and the bedding, chairs etc were very comfortable. There was ample storage, surface/counter space, access to outlets, and so on. Aesthetically a modern and comfortable environment without feeling sterile and boring. The provided work area was spacious, well-lit and comfortable -- far better than most accommodations in almost every respect on that front. This was the primary reason I chose this accommodation over others and it did not disappoint. FANTASTIC value.

A lot of small details were overlooked, including maintenance and cleaning details. The bedroom door began leaning off it's top hinge, which made it difficult to close. The lower shelf above the coffee station was pulling off of the wall and leaning. The trash can's step function wasn't working and the lid was disconnected from the mechanism, meaning I had to manually take off the lid (physically remove it and set it down somewhere). From a cleaning perspective, some visible surfaces -- including one that the drinking glasses were on -- were not dusted. Small stains on the workplace (caramel? Syrup?) that I needed to clean up and caked up dust on the bathroom vent. I needed to retrieve an item that fell behind the couch and in moving the couch discovered all kinds of disgusting mess that had not been vacuumed up. Kitchen amenities did not include oil (just salt, pepper and vinegar), which is very unusual for an otherwise well-stocked kitchen. The toilet paper wasn't refreshed. Price stickers on the glasses remained. These are all small details that generally did not degrade my experience but prevent this from being a 10/10 accommodation. Would still enthusiastically recommend.

Inside was ok clean, but the entrance and the corridor quite dirty.
