Casa Lardeira

This 3 bedroom house suited our family of 4 perfectly. Our son (18y) and daughter (22y) had their own comfortable bedrooms. The large veranda/ outdoor kitchen/dining/seating area overlooked the garden and the river was a lovely space to relax - in the hammock and the chairs. After a day bumping around on a 4x4 truck in the dust and sand, this was a welcoming retreat. The kitchen has a big fridge and freezer, the beds were very comfortable and the showers worked well. It took 10 minutes to walk along a safe road and along the beach to the restaurants. The host (Pamela) was fantastic - our own personal travel agent! We asked her to book us Tubing down the river which was lovely. Just the 4 of us and a guide on a very peaceful gentle float through nature. She also booked us an excellent tour of the lagoons. We had booked a whole day but by lunchtime felt we had had enough bumping around in the 4WD and had seen enough lagoons (it was very windy and you felt you were being exfoliated), so she kindly arranged for us to be taken home after lunch and we spent a very lazy afternoon reading in the garden by the lovely river. Our guide for the tour got us to all the locations before they got busy, including lunch, so we were able to snooze in the hammocks after eating. When we woke up, the restaurant and all the hammocks were packed full! Pamela also arranged an excellent car and driver to take us back to Sao Luis (normally a 4 hour drive, but the traffic was very bad at the entrance to Sao Luis so it took 5 1/2 hours!)

There can be noise from the river with the people on boats, but nothing that earplugs won't cover.

Very spacious house. Very friendly and responsive host. She provided me a lot recommendations and answered my questions promptly! Everything is great!

The only minor recommendation would be to improve the address posted online as it is probably 100 meter off from the real location (just down the street).
