Mallard Cottage Lake District, Leisure Spa Pool & Gym

Beautiful cottage in gorgeous surroundings on Whitbarrow Village. The accommodation has everything you need for a self catering holiday and is kept to a high standard with a very cosy living area, full kitchen including dishwasher and dining area, balcony etc. As it's on Whitbarrow Village you have access to the amenities such as pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, gym and even has a small pool for children ( booking sessions is required for pool access). On site there is a restaurant, bar with gorgeous lounge area and family games in the grounds such as crazy golf, chess, frisbie golf etc. Plenty of walking routes accessible from Mallard Cottage. Ample parking in the large guests car park which you must use after unloading/loading. Parking outside the properties is not permitted due to the narrow streets of the village. Guests with limited mobility can be dropped off and picked up at the property but the vehicle should be parked in the car park thereafter (as instructed by Whitbarrow Village staff)

Guests of other accomodations not adhering to the all vehicles to be parked in the car park after unloading/loading due to the cobbled 'street' being narrow. This makes it quite tight to maneuver around the parked vehicles.

Leuk aangelegd park dat aanvoelt als een klein dorpje. Het huisje had alles wat we nodig hadden en het kleine zwembad op het park was een welkome afwisseling.

Clean, lovely comfortable lounge and nice kitchen

The only issue was I wasn’t sent the code to access the keys. The contact number only answered on my 8th time of trying and I was left standing on the doorstep with a 3 year old and a 4 month baby.

Comfortable and modern accommodation. Superficially clean however alot of high up cobwebs. Kitchen well stocked with crockery and cutlery. Warm accommodation as it was bitterly cold. Car park close to accommodation.

Cobwebs. Needs another large frying pan. Couldn't get grill to work, not coming hot at all. Having to strip beds on last morning took time out of our stay as we had planned on having a last swim but with 4 children this made it impossible to do and be checked out for 10am. Gym not in use and not informed prior to stay. No changing rooms, we were hidden behind a temporary curtain with no door so anyone could have popped their head around. No toilets available near the pool. This changed our enjoyment for our trip as this was the main reason for booking here as we have 4 children.
