    The room itself is undoubtedly 5-star, but the rest of the hotel feels more like 4-star. It’s an intimate property where the reception doubles as the restaurant area, which can feel a bit cramped at times. The pool area is also quite small and mostly shaded throughout the day. Communication both before and during our stay was excellent. The staff added a lovely touch by decorating the room for my partner’s birthday, which we truly appreciated. However, we did experience a minor issue: a staff member initially accused me of chipping a mug handle and presented me with a bill for it. She quickly accepted that the damage wasn't mine after I pointed it out. The situation could have been handled with more tac, not quite the service standard you’d expect from a 5-star establishment Overall, a pleasant stay with great rooms, but the facilities and certain service aspects fall slightly short of a luxury rating.

    Hotel Sensai Nimman Chiang Mai completely blew us away. From the moment we arrived until the minute we checked out, the level of hospitality here set a whole new benchmark for us. The Service & Hospitality The team’s attention to detail is remarkable. Every single staff member greeted us with genuine smiles and an eager willingness to help. On one afternoon when the sun began shining directly onto our table, a attentive staff member immediately noticed and opened a foldable shelter for us before we even had to ask. To top it off, as check-out approached, they gave us a polite call 15 minutes in advance to see if we needed help with our luggage. It’s these thoughtful, proactive touches that make a stay truly feel five-star. Birthday Magic & Exquisite Rooms We were celebrating my partner’s birthday, and the hotel made it feel so special. They surprised us with a lovely room upgrade and took the time to beautifully decorate the room, complete with heartfelt, handwritten cards. The room itself was exquisite, beautifully appointed, and remarkably spacious. Despite being situated in the heart of a vibrant, busy area, the soundproofing was great and we had wonderful, restful sleep every night. Everything throughout the entire property was kept pristine, neat, and exceptionally clean. Pool & Breakfast Highlights If you can, book the private pool access room—the design is exceptionally well thought-out for seamless in-and-out access, and the pool jets are surprisingly powerful! Breakfast was another daily highlight: an extensive à la carte menu packed with delicious, authentic local Thai flavors served in very manageable portions, allowing you to sample multiple dishes. Think of Hotel Sensai like a masterfully crafted Swiss watch—every detail operates seamlessly behind the scenes, creating an effortlessly smooth, luxurious experience. We can’t recommend them highly enough and will definitely be back!

    Staff in Thailand are usually nice . Decent is a very archaic British term.Hovever decency is not what hospitality is about. Staff in Thailand needs to be efficient, aware of cross cultural expectations and have an SOP for professional behaviour. I could go on at lengths but who would be interested?
