Owls Nest Barn

The house was very well equipped, clean, spacious, comfortable. It was lovely to have Christmas decorations up 😊 The host came over to say hi and check if we needed anything. He was very kind and accommodating. He also let us check out later on departure, which was really good!

It’s a little noisy (you are on a Dairy farm!) but not too early in the morning, so ok.

Very attractive self-catering accommodation. Bread, milk, tea, coffee and a delicious home-made lemon drizzle cake were there to welcome us, as was one of our hosts who popped round to say hello, check we had all we needed and offer us a tour of the family-owned dairy farm during our stay. The tour was really interesting and opened our eyes to the joys and stresses of a farming life. Made you really appreciate milk on the table. The accommodation was really outstanding; airy, tasteful, bright and spacious. A great deal of thought has obviously gone into providing holiday-makers with a lovely space for a large group of people to relax and enjoy their time there. Perfect for family groups or the more 'mature' of us. I particularly liked the considerately-provided pot of fresh herbs growing outside the kitchen door and floor-level lighting in the bathrooms that meant night-time loo trips were safely-lit without the light being dazzling or disturbing anyone sleeping. The kitchen had generous amounts of crockery, cutlery and equipment which is great when you are preparing to eat-in as a group. Kitchen appliances were first-rate. The fridge freezer and oven had adequate space, which is, in my experience, unusual and very helpful when catering for a group.

Owls Nest Barn is exceptional! We visited as a family of eight to attend my niece's wedding and found it to be immaculately clean, extremely spacious, comfortable, and finished with high quality furnishings. The extra touches of scented soap, fluffy towels and the delicious lemon drizzle cake were very much appreciated. We loved seeing the herd come in for milking as we are from a previous diary farming family . The outside seating area along with the table tennis table was very much enjoyed. We would all loved to have stayed longer and spent more time there . Highly recommended ! Thank you David and family for your excellent communication and hospitality.

Very spacious, well-equipped, thoughtfully furnished and decorated. We were welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. The huge farmhouse dining table was a great place to eat and socialise together. The outside, covered area was great both for leisure, and allowing visitors to load and unload cars in the dry.
