This is located just outside the French Quarter, and is in walking distance to everything you'd want to see. There is a great Thai restaurant/ bar just a 100 yards away, access to the old streetcar line & buses, a great food store etc. We always felt safe.
Our host was very helpful and responsive.
The apartment was spotless, had character, was well equiped, and had very responsive air conditioning.
This was a quieter area. Was so enjoyable walking the streets, and seeing the street art, big, old trees, many musicians and singers, cool architecture, and connecting with local people. We also had a sense of how local people live, which enrichens the trip considerably.

Should really advertise that it is on the second floor and that the staircase is really NOT good for older people. The washing machine did not want to work, although the cleaning people used it daily. Location was seedy looking but just old like everything in NOLA. Was good overall
