Terrace house on SEAFORD STREET( not Beresford) for one night

We were grateful to be offered this alternative accommodation ( SEAFORD STREET not Beresford) to the one I booked after the original apartment was damaged by flooding the day before our arrival. The apartment was clean and ok for one night. It was a 5 minute Uber to Regents Theatre.

I originally booked a house on Beresford Street, specifically because it had 3 double bedrooms for our party of 3 friends. In the property we stayed in on SEAFORD STREET, one of the upstairs bedrooms has bunk beds, which were particularly low and so not ideal for the over 60's! The bathroom is on the ground floor, at the back of the house, and as far away as possible from the bedrooms. Again, it's not great for older people who need the toilet in the night! The stairs are also quite steep! The king-size bedroom upstairs could possibly have an ensuite? There is a bedroom on the ground floor at the front of the house, which is right on the street and only has vertical blinds at the windows, so it doesn't feel very private. Unfortunately, the walls are quite thin, and the neighbours on one side were noisy in thexearly hours of the morning, but they did respond to my friend knocking on the wall! On the website, Seaford Street is normally cheaper than Beresford Street, which is the house I originally booked, but I was told it was the same price. Perhaps for younger people, these things would not matter so much, but I have to review our personal experience.

Disappointing service

I have stayed here before and thought the property was brilliant

We were told on the day while at a golf tournemnt that we could not stay due to burst sewage pipe. While not the owners fault the support they gave us was shocking. Having worked in hospitality before I can safely say the service given loving us stranded in Stoke with nowhere to stay and now having to pay 3x the price for a hotel was not acceptable

Ideal location to stay the night before visiting Emma Bridgewater factory.

Good communication from host. Property clean and well appointed. Some previous reviews mentioned steep stairs. We thought these were no steeper than most similar terraced properties in any city suburb. And as one of the double bedrooms was downstairs, our least mobile member of the party was able to sleep on the same floor as the bathroom. We particularly liked the imaginative use of astroturf and "ivy" on the walls to make the garden a green and pleasant environment. We enjoyed sitting there in the evening sun with drinks and supper.

Maybe have curtains to darken the room for sleeping. In the morning there were too many gaps through the window allowing light to come through.

Excellent service and communication!

Excellent service and communication! The house is absolutely immaculate! I wish all the hosts had such an understanding about the level of cleanliness. Very high standards. All the information delivered clearly and well. Great communication with the host. We had two cars and only one parking permit as we forgot to mention it. As soon as we have contacted the host , the second permit has been delivered immediately. 5 tv in the house( each bedroom and living room). Good WiFi. Hot water. Good location. Everything was Perfect! Recommend!

Next door neighbours was very loud and felt like we was on big brother with camera.

I liked the cleanliness and communication with the owner.

The camera pointing to the front door so they could see who was coming and going and going into own of the bedrooms which was located by the front door. The fridge was tiny. I stayed with my bridal party and bought lots of food and drinks for the morning of my wedding and didn’t have space to store it so it was fresh for the morning.

Overall it was a great stay.

The noise from next door was too loud, they were shouting and being very disruptive. There was washing in the washing machine. The bed was slightly sloped so my partner fell out of bed multiple times. The location was not the best.

Lovely property, one of the best in the area I have stayed in

The property is spotlessly clean, decorated modern throughout with nice fixtures and fittings. It was a late booking and the host sent me the codes straight away so I could get in. I'd definitely recommend this property and will definitely be staying again. The property also as street parking which is a bonus.

Perfect for a short stay, lovely clean house

We stayed here as two families for one night only as we were attending an event at the nearby athletics stadium. The house is very modern and clean. The beds were very comfortable. Accessing the property and parking was no problem at all and communication with the owner was excellent. Only a short walk from many restaurants and shops. I would definitely recommend this lovely house.

There were not enough towels for all of us (booked as 6 people, only 4 towels), although I have no doubt the owner would have brought us more had we asked, but we were not there long enough for it to really be a problem. A stash of spare towels in one of the cupboards would be really useful. Some of the crockery in the kitchen cupboard was not clean. A few more utensils would be good - measuring jug/whisk? The washing machine was full of wet washing which was a bit random but we didn't need to use it so it wasn't a problem.
