Garden Of Eden

This little cozy unit had beautiful views overlooking the Shotover river and also the jet which operates the rides. There is a bit of a walk from the driveway (garden path and steps) which wasn’t a problem for us but may pose a problem for others especially if you have large/heavy suitcases to haul. The place is serene and quiet which my husband and I absolutely enjoyed! Beds and bathroom were clean, and floor tiles were heated which was a god sent during the very cold winter days! The small kitchen was well equipped with a coffee machine, kettle, toaster and a small induction cook top which we used to cook some instant noodles when we had a big day out and were too tired to go out for dinner. The drive into town was only a short 10mins. There was also a small cafe just around the corner (about 1-2 mins drive or could walk) and a few small restaurants nearby for dining options. The place had pretty much everything we needed for our 3 days stay.

The driveway is pretty narrow, and while there is a park for our rental car, the road is private and a no drive through so you would need to turn the car around in a tight driveway/private road leading to all the properties on this street. We didn’t have any problems but a bigger car may be challenging to do. Ours was a Mitsubishi Outlander

The property was fantastic. It is bigger than the photos. Very clean, great location to Coronet Peak ski fields and to Queenstown. Roy and Kristy were lovely hosts. Easy to chat to and if we needed anything they were quick at replying. I would definitely stay here again.

The parking was a bit difficult at first but we managed to get the hang of it. The shower-head was temperamental at times. When turning the shower on, the shower-head would turn and spray water out on the bathroom floor. The shower-head wouldn’t stay in the one place. The pillows were a bit uncomfortable as well.

Het verblijf was erg gezellig en knus ingericht. Dat de slaapkamer apart zit van de keuken met eetkamertafel is ideaal als je net als wij met een kind reist. De slaapkamer was ook ruim genoeg voor een kinderbedje en de keuken was voorzien van een vaatwasser. Daarnaast was er buiten een zitje en een grasveld waarbij je een prachtig uitzicht had, heel fijn. Ook het contact met de eigenaren was heel goed en prettig.

De keuken had alleen een tweepits kookplaat en geen oven wat niet altijd handig is met koken. Ook goed om te weten is dat er geen kinderbedje aanwezig is of te krijgen, maar je kan dus prima een eigen reisbedje plaatsen. Hier was de communicatie met de eigenaren ook heel duidelijk over.

We loved our stay here, it was a great base to explore Queenstown and the surrounding area; A short drive into Queenstown or 10-15 min bus ride from the end of the road. The apartment was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. One of the best places we stayed during our month in New Zealand. Would absolutely recommend.
