Finca Cafetera Madrigal - Café Sortiz

My stay with Carlos was great! He’s someone who really cares about the environment and the coffee. He genuinely wanted to make sure you are happy with the stay. My 14 yo daughter is not into coffee, but she has so much fun playing with the dogs and cats. There are also a lot of birds that visit the farm also. They have recorded seeing 90 species of birds in the farm! So bring your camera and binoculars and just enjoy wildlife. I had to check out one day early because of road closures, and he had no problem accommodating me. You will get the true Colombian hospitality if you stay with Carlos.

Nothing, but there was road closures to Filandia so maybe confirm with road closures before heading over. There are unpaved roads going to the farm but they are working on it, so hopefully they will be able to finish paving it very soon!

Es un entorno increíble, una verdadera finca cafetera rodeado de naturaleza. Carlos y Maribel son unos anfitriones maravillosos, nos ayudaron muchísimo y nos dieron una cálida bienvenida, Carlos nos dió muchísima información de todo el proceso del café, sin duda fue una de las mejores experiencias que vivimos en Colombia. Ojalá volvamos a encontrarnos algún día!

Nur 8 km von Filandia entfernt liegt diese finca wunderbar ruhig inmitten der Kaffeeplantagen. Die Besitzer Carlos und Maribel haben uns äußerst herzlich in Empfang genommen. Es lohnt sich unbedingt hier einen ganzen Tag zu verbringen und sich alles über die Herstellung von Kaffee erzählen zu lassen. Carlos hat uns über die Plantage geführt und nach dem Spaziergang ein außergewöhnliches Coffee Tasting gemacht. Das Paar strahlt eine ansteckende Begeisterung für Kaffee aus. Unfassbar: Nebenher erfährt man auch noch alles über die Herstellung von Vanille, die Maribel verantwortet. Wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt und wären sehr gerne noch länger geblieben.

We are a family with 2 kids and we loved our stay. The best part is the hosts, they were beyond kind and welcoming. We stayed in the little hut next to the main house and it was great, the kids loved it. The coffee tour with Carlos was really informative, we highly recommend it. The house is very quiet and very pretty, they have many birds passing by and an amazing amount of orchids.

It is a little difficult to get to the house, some kilometers on an unpaved road. We had a small car and it was ok, but it took some time and the kids weren’t too happy.
