Blissful Merewether Beach Cottage - A Coastal Gem

An easy walk to Merewether beach and Beach hotel where the food was lovely. A beautiful cottage with comfy beds and a light, breezy, but warm living area.

No provision of blanket as an alternative to Doonas.

Beautiful little cabin, great kitchen and living space. Close to a great cafe and short walk to the beach. Easy access. Nice courtyard. Kitchen well stocked.

Small bathroom which needed some attention - grubby floor and toilet worn and needed replacing. Place needs a good deep clean. Mattress Toppers on the bed uncomfortable and hot. Poor communication - wifi details not provided when asked.

This is email I sent directly to the property also asking when our damage deposit would be given back and have had no response whatsoever so posting here so other guests are aware. I would suggest that the couch and carpets need a big clean particularly the couch literally smells like sweat and we could not sit on it from the smell. There was also little bugs around the bathroom and cobwebs on the walls particularly the bedroom with the two beds. I would have thought for the amount of money we paid for two nights these things would have been pristine. Also the house is advertised as three bedrooms which was disappointing. We also encountered the issue where the house was completely open leading to confusion and fear amongst us ladies as we also thought we may have been at the wrong house as there were aprons thrown over the fence, the door open and unlocked. I didn’t want to put this feedback on the public review section and thought I would approach directly. Location is fantastic with the coffee shop right there and walk to the beach etc was perfect . With the small fixes mentioned above I feel it would have been a better experience and better for future guests as well
