Casa Emella Luxury Villa Albufeira

The outside space was amazing, pretty much spent all our time out by the pool. As a family of 4 we had loads of room outside for everyone and the pool was the warmest I've ever been in, you could stay in it for hours and not get cold, it's the real selling point for this villa. The table tennis was also nice to have. It was lovely to sit out even at night in the covered area on the wicker couches. We didn't turn the TV on in our 10 days there, not even sure if it would have worked as there was no power cable going into the firestick at the back of it. You definitely need a car and the area is very quiet, there is a lovely restaurant just a few minutes down the hill called O Alagar which is well worth a visit, food is delicious and very reasonable. All in all we had an enjoyable time, there were just a few things that could have made it even better.

We had an issue with the air conditioning unit in the main bedroom not working for the first few days but this got sorted but without it the heat was unbearable. The living room did not have any air conditioning so again that room was so hot and we tended to just avoid it and either stay outside or go to the bedrooms to cool down. It lets the inside down not having air conditioning in the living area. It would also be nice if there were some inflatable accessories for the poo like rings or lilos to make the most of the main selling point.

The villa was lovely, as shown in the photos. It was clean, the pool was great and there is plenty of space, towels and basic amenities left. We felt a car is needed and you will require purchasing your own amenities to last the stay. We also had pool heating which we was nice temperature for the evenings even though weather was average 27-28 degrees. The host was very responsive and replied quickly with any queries we had.

The villa is solar powered so the water occasionally went cold but it didn't last long. Just something to be wary of when having showers. It could've been useful to have a information booklet in the villa with recommendations, taxi numbers, info on the solar power , light timers, pool use etc, keys, check in/out info, tv, wifi code etc.

The villa was spotlessly clean and was exactly as expected after viewing the photos The location was quiet and the view of the mountains was beautiful A car is a must if you’re going to site see we used SIXT and it was hassle free

Service host wasn’t helpful, lack of essential crockery and pans, BBQ broken on arrival and reported and no replacement given and was told not to use by agent who called in first day and never saw them again despite many emails. As a family who BBQ a lot both home and away we felt this was unacceptable, had we known there would not have been a BBQ we would not have booked it and we asked for a refund due to the short comings. There response was very negative and unhelpful.
