Spotless property, convenient location and friendly host

Tanya was warm and welcoming. The room, shower room and communal areas were spotless. It’s was nice to have access to the tea and coffee. Great to have access to WiFi. I found the whole stay relaxing and quiet.

There was nothing I disliked about the property. It would have been nice to have a TV in the room, but I understand that could ruin the lovely atmosphere of the property.

So much better than a big hotel!

Fantastic welcome.host Tanya and her sister were lovely and I wonderfully friendly dog, Tilly I thing her name was, although I don’t think she wasn’t happy that I didn’t share my chips. Possibly the best nights sleep I’ve had for months, sorry if you heard my snoring! No Breakfast, not a problem loads of places close by to have a relaxing breakfast.

Tanya has an amazing dog 😁 The accommodation was just what I wanted, clean and good value for money.

There were no tea spoons to make the morning cuppa. If I'd have asked there wouldn't have been a problem. Everything else was superb.

An excellent stay, easy to recommend

Clean, comfortable property, nicely decorated with exceptional facilities, I particularly appreciated that there was fresh milk, shower gel and even tissues. Well located for visiting the town.

Very difficult to fault the property for the price paid. A few little bits of maintenance needed in the bathroom but nothing major

Honestly probably one of the most relieving ways I've spent my money. Was a last minute option I found just to stay overnight in Newark, and hotels were costing well over £150, and I found this place, having somewhat mid expectations. Once I got there, even though it was dark, I could tell the area was nice. I entered, met the other guest staying who was a very nice man, showed me around and introduced me, the room I had was somewhat small but insanely nice, comfortable bed, lighting, just above what I thought. Tanya later came to the garden with her dog (another bonus I played with the dog for like half an hour) and we all talked and enjoyed our time. Was an experience I never expected and my only regret is that I didn't need to stay longer than one night. She is an amazing and nice person and deserves the best

Perfect stay with a great host

Tanya was the perfect host for my two sons who travelled a long distance after work to attend a family event the following day. She was flexible with a late check-in and allowed us to leave a car on her driveway before travelling back later in the day. The rooms were immaculate and perfect for a short stay, very close to Newark town centre for restaurants and cafés. Thank you, Tanya, I'm sure we will book again when next in the area.

Amazing room and facilities

Super friendly welcome from Tanya, and the accommodation was great in every aspect - loads of space, clean, comfy, modern and the garden is a beautiful place for coffee in the morning! Right by the River Trent too, with a 15 minute walk into town.

Just what I needed for my trip.

Tanya was very friendly and welcoming. Kings Sconce is a few minutes walk from Northgate railway station, in a new estate of houses. There is a riverside walk taking you into town, with a park on the other side of the river Trent. My room was small but fresh and clean. Good comfortable double bed. The modern style garden was lovely to sit in. I liked the spacious shower. There is a retail park, the Maltings, just down the road with everything you might need - T K Maxx, M&S food, Majestic Wine, several hardware and bargain shops and Mountain Warehouse.

My host Tanya was very welcoming indeed (not forgetting Tilly the dog). Beautiful home and immaculate inside and out especially the rear garden and seating area. Large bedroom and bed to die for. Tea and coffee whenever you wanted. Amazing value for money and will definitely return!

Restful and really nice after a long, emotional day at my aunt’s funeral

The house was immaculate and the garden pretty. There was off street parking. My room and the bed were very comfortable. The bed linen was cotton, cool and nice. I slept really well, unusually for me in a new place. The decor was chosen with care. Tanya, my host was friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend it 😊 and would stay there again.

This was my second stay and it was very comfortable. The shower bath has plenty of hot water. However, I did not find a hair dryer this time either, although it is mentioned in the facilities.

Location was perfect, the owner was absolutely lovely and made me feel welcome, from the moment I arrived. The room was very comfortable, tea and coffee provided, I would definitely recommend, 5⭐️

It was very clean

It was a room in someone’s home. The walls were very thin. There was no en suite (it was not advertised as such, but it omitted to say it wasn’t). There was no TV or tea making facilities in the room The room was very small The room had the owners things stored in wardrobe space and the cupboard The utility area where the tea making facilities were was cluttered with tools and laundry items The shared shower room was across the hall but as the advertisement for the booking omitted to point this out, bathrobes should have been supplied The advert for the property states no pets giving the impression of a pet free environment, but the owner of the property has a dog.

Lovely private space, great value & location.

We loved our stay at Tanya’s place. The rooms were so cosy and beautifully furnished. Being self-contained on the ground floor was great, as were the facilities. Both rooms were really comfortable and warm, as well as being nice and quiet with super comfy beds so we slept really well. Tanya was on hand to give us a warm welcome and some local info, but we really felt like we had privacy and freedom to come and go as we pleased. It was really easy to get to from the train station and into the lovely local town. Thank you, Tanya for such a warm welcome and for also for the great restaurant recommendation.

There was nothing we didn’t like. It was a brief stay, we were three friends breaking a long journey so just stayed for one night. We would’ve been perfectly happy there for longer and I’d recommend it to anyone. If any of us were to be back in the area again, we would book in for another stay for sure.
