    A fantastic base for exploring Nagoya. The location couldn't be more convenient — everything is easily accessible, and getting around was a breeze. The room was spotlessly clean, and the staff were genuinely attentive without being intrusive. Wi-fi was reliable throughout, housekeeping was prompt and thorough, and the hot water was consistently strong — small things that make a big difference after a long day out. Would happily stay again.

    Let me preface this review by saying that you should expect a *japanese* household which means the bathrooms are normally smaller than in other countries and the space, while large by Japanese standards may not be up to what you expect in say North America. What I will tell you is that it is perfect for a Japanese vacation in the heart of Kagaruzaka (Little Paris). You are literally in an amazing place for food, amenities and a hop away from Idabashi station giving you access to all of Tokyo. We LOVED this place and will come back again! At the foot of the building is an excellent ramen bar place if you’re ever hungry. A convenience store literally 50 feet away if you need sundries or anything else you might have missed taking on your trip. The owners respond within *seconds* if you need anything. Highly recommended!

    We have stayed at several Royal Park Hotel locations in Japan over the years as we like this brand a lot, and this is our first time staying at the Iconic collection. The location is great, and the retail space below has a variety of shops and restaurants. A department store and essentials like MUJI and Donki are within 2-3 blocks. At check-in, the staff were very friendly and spoke fluent English. However, one thing that led to mixed feelings is this: after making the original booking six months ago, we realize we needed to add one extra night shortly after making the first booking, then we made it through a separate booking. We immediately contacted both the hotel and Agoda to request a note that we would stay in the same room for both bookings, and it was noted six months ago. We double-checked at check-in, and the staff said it was noted and done, the staff even said “I will make sure the key works for the last day as well, let me do it now”. However, when we came back to our room after a long day on the last night, we realized the key no longer worked. The staff then told us we were not supposed to stay in that room and needed to pay extra for another room. After 30 minutes of back-and-forth and reviewing all communication, they finally acknowledged it was their own communication mistake and they did not know why it happened. The ironic part is that it was the same staff member who checked us in. It was very unpleasant, and it was past 10pm by then. When we got back into the room, our luggage had been moved, the beds were not made, and the towels were on the bathroom floor. All we received was a verbal apology with no compensation, and they said there was nothing else they could do and “I don’t know what else to say”. This might seem like a small hiccup, but it did change our feelings toward this brand. While most things were good, this did ruin our experience and the great F1 weekend we had. This is as honest and fair as a review can be.
