Come to this hideaway and enjoy this spectacular, beautiful lakeside home in the Okoboji / Spirit Lake area: A special place for year-around fun, excitement, and comfort for you and your loved ones.
Enjoy this 4 bedroom, 3 bath, 3000 sq. ft. entire home with 2 family rooms, fully equipped kitchen, dining room with seating for 12. Large picture windows show off amazing sunsets and a panoramic view of Center Lake; a special secret retreat nestled in the Iowa Great Lakes area. A top-level deck and a lower lake-level patio showcase tables for wonderful outdoor, lake-side eating and relaxing. This special home has been completely remodeled in 2022-2023 for your complete enjoyment. The spaciousness of this home will accommodate your entire family.
This spacious home has two levels. The top floor which includes a Master bedroom (the light-blue room). This room has a breath-taking lake view, walk-in closet, and full bath with a tub and shower combo. A comfortable desk complements this room for anyone needing that extra work space. In the walk-in closet there is a full-sized crib (with bedding provided), a Pack-n-Play, a diaper changing table and other baby supplies.
On the same level and near the Master bedroom is a full-size washer and dryer.
The kitchen is a fully functional working kitchen; containing a standard-sized GE stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, Whirlpool dishwasher and Maytag Microwave. There is a plenteous amount of cabinet space. Additional small appliances include a toaster, Keurig coffee maker, as well as a full compliment of dishes, serving dishes and tableware.
A second bedroom/office (the navy room) is also located on the top floor. A twin daybed with a twin trundle bed enhances the number of family members this home can comfortably accommodate. The desk in this room provides that working quiet-place while the kids are off at Arnolds Park or playing in the lake. Immediately adjacent to this bedroom is a second bath, which has a shower and full lavatory accommodations. Both baths on the top level have safety bars for additional personal mobility assistance.
The Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchen area is spacious with seating for everyone with the added beauty of a spectacular view of the lake from almost any location. A Smart-TV (streaming only) and plenty of books and games, located in the Living Room will provide enjoyment for everyone. The extra-large Dining Room table comfortably seats 8 and there are 4 stools at the counter for additional friends and family, for that quick snack. A highchair and booster meal seat are always available within the home to accommodate the youngest family members.
Immediately outside of the Living - Dining Room area is a large deck area for dining or relaxing.
The Lake Level, down the stairs, has a large family room with a microwave, a game table and comfortable seating for everyone. Have your own Ping-Pong tournament to add to your vacation memories. A second television (streaming only) is located in this family room. A large 3rd bedroom (orange room) is located on this level. This room has a queen bed and a view of the lake. The walk-in closet in this room has a toddler bed (with complete bedding).
A 4th bedroom (green room) has a queen bed, and twin-over-full bunk bed, thus providing several sleeping options. The third full-bathroom is located on this level, containing a shower and full lavatory accommodations. All bedrooms have dark-out curtains.
NOTES: For the 3 major summer holidays, hosts require 3 night stay minimum.
Owners require primary renting guest to be 26 years-of-age or older.
Hosts do not allow pets.
Center Lake is a quiet lake nestled between the greater Okoboji lakes and Spirit Lake. A unique aspect of Center Lake is that the entire western shoreline is Iowa Dept. of Natural Resources land. This optimizes the splendor of the beautiful views from this home. At its maximum depth, Center Lake is 17 ft. deep which allows for a variety of recreational activities.
The unique quietness of this lake allows you to enjoy your water recreation activities without the boat traffic which characterize other lakes in the region. The quiet aspect of Center Lake lends itself to a wide variety of wildlife, including pelicans, turkeys, geese, swans and bald eagles.
This lake is within 10 miles of the amazing life that is unique to the Iowa Great Lakes region, which include the Okoboji Lakes, Arnolds Park Amusement Center, and Big Spirit Lake. The local Walmart is only one mile away and the Hy-Vee grocery store is two miles from this special home. A very short walk or bike ride provides easy access to the Goodies Candy Store or the Black Earth Java Coffee Shop for a delicious cup of coffee or snack. A short two-block walk within the subdivision is a quiet city park, with a children’s playground, ball field, picnic tables, grills, and restroom facilities.

Fishing (including ice fishing), kayaking, canoeing, swimming, water-skiing, sailing are all recreational opportunities at Center Lake as well the the entire Great Lakes region.
There are 2 adult kayaks for your use and a number of life jackets for adults and children. Don’t worry, beach towels are proved. And coming in Summer 2024 is a private dock.
The Public Boat launch-ramp (with plenty of parking) is easily accessible from this fantastic home and is located across the lake.
The Iowa Great Lakes - Okoboji area has an incredible amount of attractions and fun events for all ages and at all times of the year.

I rented this house for our annual Mom/Sisters get-away because of the location and layout of the bedrooms/bathrooms. The house is nicely decorated with an open layout. It was well stocked with everything you need. We were greeted with a hand-written note from the owners as well as coffee/tea K-cups for the Keurig machine and a bowl with snacks/treats. This was much appreciated. The light switches and cabinets are labeled which made it easy to find what you are looking for.
After parking in the driveway, there is a nice ramp to the front door. The main level has the kitchen, dining rm, living rm, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry rm. From this level you can walk out to the main deck to enjoy the view of the lake and sunsets. This layout works well if someone has difficulty with stairs.
The lower level has a family room, kitchenette, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. We had fun using the ping-pong table. From this level you can walk out to a covered patio area that is beneath the deck above. From the patio there are stairs to get to the dock on the lake.
The neighborhood is nice and Center Lake was quiet with only a few boats out in the distance. This home is in great location away from the heavily touristy area and yet close to things to do. We went to gift shops, candy store, and downtown Spirit Lake which has restaurants and more shops.
The owners were quick to respond to any questions we had. We enjoyed our time here and would rent from John and Tina again.
