Very cosy and so well located close to everything, yet hidden away down a side street. Lovely little garden and ideal for a family get together.

The cottage is charming, very warm and wonderfully situated in old Hastings. Round the corner in George St are great eateries and shops; Hastings Contemporary Gallery is 5 mins walk away, as are the wonderful fishermen’s net huts and museums.
Our host was very helpful when we had queries.
It isn’t a very suitable cottage for elderly people, or people with any mobility problems, as the stairs are very steep and winding, and there is no rope or rail to hang on to. There are 2 grips in the walls of the upper staircase, but we found it difficult to carry things up and down both.
The cups and glasses are very high up on a shelf in the kitchen if you are short! It would have been useful to have a kitchen stool to stand on to help lift them down.

Good idea for the lock box code-one I could remember! Very central to shops etc. Lovely courtyard & sun-trap. Everything was super clean. Very comfy beds. Thankfully there was a downstairs toilet. Lovely walks nearby.
As soon as we arrived the fan from the restaurant kitchen opposite was turned on between 7.30am till 11pm so was noisy in the bedroom. Ended up in the top bedroom. Gulls woke me up at 5am as I had to have the window open due to the heat,was asked not to turn the Aga off-sweltering. Stairs were a bit steep for my husband and knocked his head a couple of times being low(it wasn't too bad for me being small!) Quite difficult to find a parking space but we knew that before we arrived.
