Maria-Irini Villa

Host met us at villa and explained everything. The villa was well equipped with everything required for a home to home stay. We ate in a lot during our two weeks here but also used the local area. Plenty of quiet low key family run taverners within a 2 minutes walk on the flat. Hearty Greek dishes on your doorstep. Excellent location for a peaceful rest. Lovely coastal walks right outside our door. We hired a car and discovered to the right of the villa you could either drive along the coast or walk to Kato Gouves if you wanted to keep your steps up.

Unfortunately a big part of us choosing this villa was the plunge pool, unfortunately it was broken before we arrived and not fixed during our 15 night stay which did disapoint us. However this was only a small sadness and didn`t fully reflect our stay. The owners did kindly arrange with neighbouring apartments for us to use their pool.

Ein schön eingerichtetes und sehr sauberes Haus, mit ganz lieben Gastgebern, die uns herzlich mit kühlen Getränken und ein paar Snacks empfangen haben. Von dem Balkon blickt man direkt aufs Meer und allgemein ist die Lage super. Man geht entweder direkt vor der Tür schwimmen oder geht zu Fuß andere Strände besuchen. Mit dem Mietwagen war die Lage ebenfalls gut um Kreta zu erkunden. Viele Restaurants sind zu Fuß zu erreichen (keine 2Minuten).

Der Pool war während unseres Aufenthaltes defekt.

The villa is located only minutes from the sea (no need to lug a beach bag, just grab a towel and go!). The property itself is well equipped with comfortable beds with air con, two lovely sun terraces and a plunge pool, which is like getting into a bath at the end of the day! They have a bookcase full of adult and kids books, along with a range of board games too, which is great for the kids. Enough restaurants to choose from within minutes of the property and two larger supermarkets about 20-25 minutes away and a smaller convenience shop a 5 minute walk away. You can walk to the nearby resorts Gouves and Kokkini Hani or get the bus to Heraklion. Crete aquarium and the dinosaur park are within walking distance too.

None, it’s one of the best we’ve stayed in.
