Jaisalmer Safari Base & Camp

We had a once in a lifetime experience in the desert with camel rides, watching the sunset, enjoying a cultural show, sleeping in the desert under the Milky Way, and watching the sunrise in the desert. Mr. Ameen, our host, was there with us all throughout, and made his best to make our experience the most comfortable and enjoyable. Extra payments had to be made for the safari experience, but it's really worth as the experience you get is immeasurable. I would strongly recommend Mr. Ameen's place and his companionship, if you are planning to have a desert experience.

I absolutely loved my stay here. I came here with the intention of seeing the stars / milky way, and Ameen and the crew went above and beyond at every opportunity to make sure that I was not just successful in my mission (driving me out to sleep on the dunes under the stars which was a truly magical experience), but that I got to experience so much more. It all started with Ameen picking me up in Jaisalmer itself, where he treated me to a lovely chai. It was very obvious from my first impression that he was going to be an excellent host, and he really delivered on that impression. So friendly, so informative and excited to chat, and so efficient in fixing things up for me (at one point I was craving a snack during the day...he made some calls, and within 10 minutes someone had run into the camp from the nearby town to deliver me biscuits). As far as the camp is concerned, it has every thing you need. Comfortable accommodation (although I chose to sleep under the stars each night), brilliant food and service, and fun entertainment in the evening. I fully enjoyed walking around the dunes, which are stunning by the way, as well as interacting with all the locals in my down time. I also loved the camel sunset experience. All in all, this was a 10/10 experience and I will absolutely be coming back at the earliest opoprtunity. My advice to any fellow stargazers is do your research into moon cycles / luminosity, as well as which months of the year are best for milky way viewing. I did my research and ended up with a truly unforgettable experience. Thank you Ameen!

Rustic luxury at its best! From the very first moment, the warmest welcome at the camp continued throughout our entire stay. The lovely owner/manager and the caring staff truly made us feel at home. With 15 years in business, it’s clear they are doing everything right. Everything was simply fantastic — from the camel rides, the breathtaking sunset, and the lively evening show, to the delicious tapas followed by dinner. Breakfast the next morning was equally delightful. Our room had everything we needed: clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. The whole place radiates harmony and peace — just the way it should be. Shukriya! 🙏✨

A glamping tent with a private shower, fun and interesting entertainment, good food and a welcoming host.

Mattress was hard, and there were a few mosquitoes. Unfortunately, there was a group of weekend bachelors from Gujurat on the booze and being very noisy. This was no fault of the host, who turned all power off at around 11, to persuade the gents to retire to their beds.
