Perfect house for kids

Firstly, our host Leena was amazing. She was so responsive and patient with all our questions. She organised car and winter clothes rental for us and honestly went above and beyond to make our stay magical. The house was amazing, the sledding hill was a highlight each day for the kids and there was plenty of space for us all (4 adults and 5 kids). There was a sauna and a fire pit too which made nice activities for the evenings. You could walk to SCV from the house, about 20mins through a forest trail. A small shop about 15mins walk away but otherwise a car was needed. The house was well stocked, it had everything you could need on terms of cooking/eating but also things like toiletries and towels. There were 2 double rooms, one room with 2 singles and one room with 3 singles. There was also some boardgames and Lego etc for kids to play with although the snow was such a novelty for them most of their time was spent outside.

Honestly nothing! I can't fault the house or host. It was quite expensive for the week but then Finland is expensive anyway and we had no regrets staying there. Would recommend in a heartbeat.

This property is just amazing The sledding hill in the back garden ideal for kids (and adults) The house was clean, spacious, well equipped and warm Location was brilliant- close enough to walk to scv and shops etc but far enough away to feel you have privacy and not too built up. Leena the host was the best. She put me at ease the minute I booked our DIY Lapland trip and we even managed to check in early!

Stunningly beautiful home set in a magical snowy wonderland ⛄️

From our initial enquiry to leaving the property Leena (the owner) was simply amazing, helpful and went way beyond her role to help and assist us. We’ve stayed at many properties before but none have even come close this touch of magic. The setting is just something magical, down a quiet snowy street with no through traffic so is perfect for peace and quiet. A 2 minute walk down the street and you’re in a beautiful snowy, wooded Forrest where you can easily walk with children through to SCV. That said our kids didn’t want to go out and explore as the house itself is just perfect. The layout and size is great for small and large families alike with the 4 huge bedrooms. Amazing dining space with views out across the garden and snowy street - not to mention the underfloor heating which keeps the house so warm and toasty! Now the garden… this is the biggest bonus for any family or adults who love to relive their childhood! Snow covered with its own sledging hills - not one but 2!! Leena has a selection of sleds, boards, mats and discs for you to use - there’s even a sled bike and scooter which was a big hit with our little ones! Again we cannot thank Leena enough for her time and effort before and during our stay - we will 100% be back to visit again! Leena also knew it was our son’s birthday while we were there so had a gift waiting for when we arrived… 🙏

Home away from home

It was absolutely snuggly. A home away from home. The house had everything we needed. Deliveries were easy to the door (Wolt). Location was superb. Just a couple of mins from the Santa Village. Leena and Pekka were so helpful and accommodating. Pekka came and set up a fire for us outside with sausages to cook. They had all the sledding gear, snow boards etc, had some snowballs already made for the kids. It was perfect for a family stay. Leena can do all activities and bookings as well.

The lodge was very clean, warm and cosy with comfortable beds, little treats of chocolate and drinks waiting for us. The rooms are very inviting with soft lighting and lots of hanging space. The kitchen is fully equipped for everything you would need.

The property was very well equipped and in a great location with easy access. As a family of 6 adults and 1 child we felt like we had enough space and it was a home away from home and surprisingly warm given the -20 degree temperatures we encountered. The house is on a quiet street which is a short taxi ride away from the airport (uber is readily available) with a mini supermarket a short taxi ride away.. We had a magical walk to Santa Claus village in the thick snow which takes around 20 mins. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the fire pit toasting marshmallows and sledging in the back garden. Highly recommend this for a visit to Lapland.

Lapland 2025 family get together

Leena the host answered emails prior to our arrival promptly, she also kept us updated on when the Northerm lights were seen outside sonwe could go outside to watch. The house was warm and cosy, the size of the house was great for 2 families of 4. The outdoor sledding hill was a hit with the kids and the adults. Location was close to everything we needed, but just tooooo cold to walk, -21..!!! Taxis were always available and the Finnish people are all lovely and speak amazing English. Will deffinately be back for more..!!!

Amazing

Fully equipped house with lovely backyard in the wood. We travelled with another family, and this house is PERFECTTTTT for all of our 4 children. They can play in the backyard for hours and had so much fun!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at Nordic Villa. From the moment we arrived, the hosts were incredibly helpful and so friendly, making us feel truly welcome. The house itself is spectacular—beautifully designed, spacious, and packed with great facilities. We loved having a sauna on-site, and the sledding right outside was a fantastic bonus! The surrounding woods made the setting even more magical. One of the absolute highlights was being able to see the Northern Lights from the garden—a truly unforgettable experience. There was also a fire pit, where we spent a beautiful evening roasting marshmallows and sausages, making great family memories. The location is perfect—just seven minutes from the airport, five minutes from Santa Claus Village, and close to Rovaniemi town, making it ideal for exploring the area. Despite being so close to everything, the villa still felt peaceful and private. A special mention to the owners for their generosity—they had food waiting for us, including frozen pizzas and fresh fruit, since we arrived late that evening. This thoughtful touch made all the difference. From a family perspective, you couldn’t find a better place to stay. We couldn’t recommend Nordic Villa highly enough—it was an absolutely perfect stay, and we’ll definitely be back!

Amazing villa

Everything perfect . The property was amazing. Clean, the beds were comfy, excellent location. We timed our walk to the Santa Claus Village at 15 mins steady pace, with the children it took longer because it involved lots of playing en route. The walk is beautiful and easy, through the forest. The property owners are great. Lovely people, so helpful, Pekka came on our last night and we lit the fire pit, we cooked sausages and did sledging in the dark . We had supplies waiting for us when we arrived...pizzas, huge bowl of fruit, coffee, tea etc., loo rolls....the local supermarket does free delivery when you order online, even late at night ! Loved this place, can't wait to come again

The house was definitely a golden gem near Santa Claus Village. Our group had 6 adults and 3 children and we enjoyed the house so much that we didn’t even want to go anywhere. The house was so cozy and spacious at the same time, and so well equipped with everything from cookwares to spices. We also spent alot of time outside by the firepit watching the kids play with the sleds.

Ein absoluter Traum.

Das Haus ist superschön und ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Wir haben uns total wohl und Willkommen gefühlt. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Leena die Gastgeberin war schon im Vorfeld sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und hat alle Fragen schnell beantwortet. Onni, der Sohn, hat uns freundlich empfangen und das Haus gezeigt und alles erklärt. Wir waren mit unserer Wahl mehr als zufrieden und werden bestimmt wieder kommen.

The room is very beautiful, with flowers and fruits. It is not crowded for 9 people. The living room is large and has a good TV. It takes 30 minutes to walk to Santa Claus Village.房间非常漂亮，有鲜花和水果，9人住也不拥挤，客厅大和很好的电视机，徒步去圣诞老人村30分钟
