Cozy Ocala Retreat w/ Pool, Screened Lanai!

My husband and I couldn’t be happier with our stay at Cozy Ocala Retreat. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect place to relax and unwind. The owners truly take pride in their home, and it shows in every detail. They were so kind, thoughtful, and welcoming throughout our stay. The location is wonderful—right across the road from a charming museum, just a short drive to Silver Springs State Park for glass-bottom boat rides, kayaking, and more, and conveniently close to shopping like Walmart and Aldi, along with many great restaurants. We loved learning that the museum offers free admission on the first Saturday of every month, and downtown Ocala hosts a First Friday Art Walk that’s full of life and creativity—definitely worth experiencing! The pool isn’t heated, but it’s very clean with comfortable seating. I especially enjoyed quiet mornings outside, listening to the birds and soaking in the peaceful surroundings. The neighborhood is beautiful, well-kept, and quiet—an upscale area that feels very safe and relaxing. It’s also a great central location for exploring—about an hour to Daytona Beach, 90 minutes to Cedar Key (a charming fishing village with a public beach), and around two hours to Clearwater Beach and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. We would absolutely stay here again if we’re back in Ocala. Thank you for such a lovely experience!

I did experience an allergic reaction during my stay, likely due to the detergent used on the linens. I have very sensitive skin, and anything other than a gentle, free-and-clear detergent can cause a rash. It’s something I didn’t think to mention ahead of time, especially for a longer stay. Thankfully, I was able to manage it with some Benadryl. I also want to say the owners are incredibly kind and accommodating—I truly believe they would have happily helped and rewashed everything with a different detergent if I had reached out. I just didn’t want to trouble them, as everything else about the stay was absolutely perfect and this was simply an oversight on my part. I would definitely book here again in the future and would just plan ahead with my allergy needs next time.
