Accommodation was fine, food was very poor

Breakfast on both mornings was cold

Food in the restaurant very poor. Ordered 2 fish & chips. Only one came. When second meal arrived fish wasn't cooked. Mushy peas on both meals were dried up and inedible

There seems to be a lot of rubbish in the car park ie McDonalds bags and other food containers which lets the area down. People ought to take their rubbish home and put in the bin.

Perfect for what I needed

For the price you can moan about this Hotel. Lovely staff, clean and tidy room with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was very basic and the room could have an ironing board of its own. But again for the price it was a good stay.

The lack of gluten free breakfast options. But saying that the lady in the restaurant was so helpful and kind.

Not pleasant and we left early we had to move rooms dues to a problem with the shower and taps and hot water constantly

Didn’t have our booking, restaurant closed, poor breakfast.

Some of the staff including the cleaner were lovely… rooms decent size… that’s about it..

When we arrived after travelling for hours hungry and exhausted we were told we didn’t have a room booked - I showed her the booking.com proof and she still said we weren’t booked in. Eventually she told me to contact booking.com (who never replied) and she eventually gave us a room but said it was my job to contact booking.com even though thy DO have my dates correct. Then we were told restaurant closed so no food. We then had to go back out to get dinner. Then we paid £40 for breakfast for 4 - no bacon, no cereal, no fruit, nothing but a couple of bits of broken bread and we had to write down our own order. Then 15 mins later a disappointing breakfast came out which 3 of us barely touched. At one point we got locked of our room just before taxi collected us and our luggage was inside. Shower dribbled and beds uncomfy. Waste of £200. Would not stay there again.

Average hotel, but ripped off with parking charges

Good location for what we needed

Parking charges not clear, we checked in with our reg number at reception & was told that was all we needed to do. 2 weeks later we get a parking charge, so I contact the hotel who told me they would get the charge cancelled which they failed to do, so I did not appeal the charge, then I get a £170 charge. I have contacted the Hotel who just ignore my emails, disgraceful way to treat customer as they just don’t care.

Be Warned, Car Parking and harsh evening staff member

The SHOCK of the car parking charge of £4.50. So on a back of a complaint that was resolved, we returned but no one gave advanced notice of car parking charges as a courtesy. They could have done this on the back of my rebooking email in Oct 2025. They just assumed we would know from booking.com, which wasn't clear either. This parking charge system was installed 4 months prior to Nov 2025, therefore we had a shocking surprise when we arrived The supervisor on arrival, not the receptionist, the other man, he was rude because he didnt like my emotional reaction because I was annoyed, especially from the previous experiences and then he couldnt let it go once I had let it go. He then started having a go at me. He almost refused to check us in. He said "its only £4.50" but that's not the point.

Barely adequate due to the lack of hot water for washing and showering.

The full English Breakfast was good although the scrambled eggs were a little cold. The restaurant area was a little dated and dim and could do with a more modern brighter environment.

No hot water available on the Saturday night and the following morning. Had to shower in cool water!

We were given room that was for disabled people, fine if you are disabled but we are not. Sink and bath/shower to low. Bed to low and smaller than in other rooms we have stayed in on previous occasions. Could not get heating to work in bathroom so was cold when washing/showering

Convenient location, with everything one needs with nice helpful staff

First turning on the left off the A1M motorway at Norman Cross going towards Yaxley. Then IMMEDIATE LEFT AGAIN past cottage/house, the road then goes to the right and the road is labelled as the A1 which has been historically known as "the Great North Road" and the hotel is less than a hundred metres on the right, drive slowly as easy to miss it especially after dark. The A1M is only a slight detour from M1 but is quieter than the M1 (which is very easy to re-join going north or south). I was working in Peterborough but others staying were travelling in all directions as this is a central location for many parts of the country. I have stayed here half a dozen times and I have met many people who always use the hotel when visiting friends and family in the south and the north! Friendly welcome, 24 hour reception desk, tea and coffee in the room and staff provided me with an extra glass of fresh milk in the middle of the night. Clean facilities just past the reception desk (ladies to the left, gents to the right) very convenient when needing a comfort break after a long drive (with good quality toilet tissue). Usually my first stop before going to reception. Excellent buffet cooked breakfast (constantly being freshly replenished) plus cereal, fruit juices, additional meats, cheese and yoghurts. Also croissants/ pain au chocolat. Non-smoking room, good size, bath and shower. Room at comfortable temperature (was very cold outside). Large well presented restaurant with bar space with cooked meal orders taken until 9 pm, I missed the deadline but they still took my order and I had a relaxing end to a long day. Spacious well lit car park. (Breakfast from 6.30 am Monday to Friday when I needed an early start, and 7 am Saturday/Sunday.)

Don't know, I am always happy staying here and others I have met from families to contractors, are also very satisfied. It is not a luxury hotel but it is very pleasant with everything one needs. I did not have time to visit the many interesting places easy to reach from this location - maybe next time I can schedule time for this.

Excellent 1-night stop on the A1, well located. Quiet, comfortable, v good value. Great breakfast.

I arrived quite late - just after 10pm - but was still able to get food 9pizza) from the bar, as well as drinks. Check in was quick and easy. Room was perfectly adequate for a one night stopover and excellent value for the price. Everything in the room worked fine, it was clean, quiet and comfortable. The shower was very powerful and steady temperature (no dips). Breakfast wa included in my rate and was an excellent buffet full English - with eggs cooked fresh and the bacon still fresh (not leathery like it had sat there for hours as is a common experience). Staff were friendly and helpful, especially on the bar and at breakfast.

Nothing really, paying for car park on top of the room is never great, but I was aware of this before booking so not really an issue - other than minor hassle of having to pay online.

Good comfortable hotel with attentive staff

Checkin on arrival was spit in. SONIA on the desk who was very polite, efficient and professional on Information. I was checked in to room no 20 on the ground floor which was ideal . The room itself was quite spacious, comfy bed, tea and coffee facilities, and I particularly liked the Japanese sliding panels in front of the wibdown which shut out all light... so ideal. The bathroom was spotless and functional and in good order. Breakfast over two nights was buffet style. 8am to 10am weekends. 7.30an to 9.30am weekdays. It was never too busy in a morning so seating was comfortable. The waitress attentive and kept busy making sure places were set, tables cleaned and still time to ask if you wished poached or fried eggs... Which were served to fresh to compliment the buffet on offer. The juices were nice. The products used for breakfast were spot on as was the cooking of such. Bacon was just as I like it. So I would give 5 out of 5 for serving and breakfast and similar for room and checkin. The bar was comfortable. Yes if I had to be picky the furniture carpets in corridor a bit dated and occasional marks and stains .. But again was comfortable. Internet is available for guests. So all in all a very pleasant experience with good service

Unexpected extra charges & hassle for parking on arrival, having to give card details to 3rd party.

On arrival, there was unexpected charges for parking in the hotel's large car park, which were not described during booking or on the website. This forces you to use a 3rd party website or phone to give card details to another company, under pressure (at risk of a fine), as there are no parking alternatives - the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by double yellow lines, so you are trapped into paying more to an external company once you have arrived. This left me feeling cheated, and very uncomfortable having to give card details to a company I didn't know. Parking should be included/additional in the room price on booking, not this pressure/hassle and a different company after arrival.
