Desa Hostel

El mejor lugar para hospedarse en Munduk. La localización es muy buena y las camas son grandes y cómodas. Todo está muy limpio y los desayunos de Dedic son increíbles (probad las tortitas). Hemos vuelto 2 veces a este alojamiento. Nos ayudaron a planificar las rutas y el alquiler de la moto es muy económico. Son los mejores!!

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The facilities were clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere that made it easy to relax and meet other travelers. What truly made my experience special was the amazing staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with recommendations, transportation, or any questions I had. They genuinely care about their guests and go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels at home. Thank you to the whole team for making my stay so memorable. I would definitely stay here again!

Desa feels safe and secure. Comfortable beds with crisp, clean white bed linen and bath towel. Wifi works well everywhere. The staff (Dedi and Putu) were really friendly and helpful. I was picked up from Munduk bus stop. They gave me advice, arranged a walking/waterfalls day tour and sorted my onward travel. They also put up with my terrible attempts to speak Bahasa Indonesia 🥴 One thing to note, Desa Hostel is in the village of Bengkel, around 15 minutes away from the Munduk. This was not an issue for me. It's an easy motorbike taxi ride, if needed. 🙏

I left a bad review for the noisy warung across the road 😁 The tours and transfers were a little pricey and I never did get to see my final bill 🤷‍♂️

he property is very well maintained and, importantly, there is no smell of damp inside. The food is good.

Room without a window, and from around 6–7 a.m. the noise from scooters is so loud that sleeping is practically impossible. I strongly advise against booking excursions through this hotel. We arranged transport to Sekumpul Waterfall and clearly stated that we wanted to go only to the official ticket office and would not participate in any illegal arrangements. The staff assured us that everything was safe and under control — which turned out to be false. Upon arrival, the driver intentionally took us to an unofficial ticket point where we were charged 350,000 IDR per person instead of 250,000 IDR at the official office. Only after we discovered the deception, made a video call with the hotel, and reported the matter to the police did we receive the refund of the difference — the driver stopped at a local intermediary’s place on the way back to return the money. I find these practices unacceptable, especially since we explicitly warned the hotel beforehand. They misled us and involved us in a local scam. If you plan to visit Sekumpul Waterfall — do not book transport through this hotel. Verify in advance where the official ticket office is located and react immediately if anything seems suspicious.
