Property was just as described - small, but nice, view of the lake from the outdoor patio furniture, which we enjoyed. Nice, quiet neighborhood, close to all the activities we ended up doing (disc golf, mini golf, restaurants and ice cream). The kayaks were too small to be used by my 6 ft husband and 5 ft 10 inch son, but you could rent kayaks at the marina only a block away (we ended up not, as it was pretty windy). Also, there is not much seating space inside the cottage - just as the pictures describe - the sofa couch in the 2nd room (which is unavailable when the pull-out bed is being used) and the table in the kitchen with the 4 high-top chairs (which were a bit challenging as I am only 5 ft 4 inches tall). The cottage was small overall, but just met our 3-person family needs.Hosts were very accessible by text and accommodating.

Great host to work with. Very cute place. Great decor for a lake cabin. Would definitely recommend and will rent again in the future.

We enjoyed our stay. We didn’t use kayaks and paddle boat so can’t speak to their usability. Cottage is small but very cozy. Decorated nice. 2 large tvs. About an hour and half to bridge and to Traverse City. We didn’t do much in Houghton Lake except get groceries for stay and eat a breakfast. Beautiful lake.

Nice place for a short trip. Stayed 3 nights, last day of my trip the water lines froze and i was unable to shower, wash dishes, flush the toilet or access water for anything, including making coffee.
After notifying the host, I received a response approximately 5 hours later. Host did not offer anything to offset the inconvenience of no water.
Although this was an "off season" stay, i still paid a premium which the simple requirement of water could not be provided and a 5 hour delay in response to the concern needs to be addressed.
