About this cottage rental

An original camp Gordon Johnston property.

Many upgrades have been made to the inside of this historic home, such as Central AC/Heat fully renovated kitchen with new cabinets and appliances, to name a few, while keeping the cottage exterior charm. You will love having your morning coffee or tea on the comfortable front porch swing in the egg chair and enjoying the water views.

This cozy retreat offers 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with a day bed in the Dining/sitting room. The dining table can expand to seat 8. The master bedroom offers a split king adjustable bed and a flat-screen TV. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and flat-screen TV, and the third has a full-size bed and bathroom with a spa tub. I’ve uploaded many current pictures of the cottage so that you can get a feel of your vacation home.

The water source in the home is well water and tends to be off-color. I recommend bringing bottled water to drink.

This property has a 3-night minimum.

Places to visit in the surrounding area include Tate's Hell Nature Trail, the Historic Carrabelle Lighthouse
and Museum, Camp Gordon Johnston World War II Museum, Panacea's Gulf Specimen Marine Lab (with
touch pools for children) and the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve. Various activities
are available, including Dog Island Ferry excursions, charter fishing, kayaking, birding, cycling paths
across the road, and guided boat tours at Wakulla Springs. There are a variety of local seafood
eateries and a local supermarket. Also close by is the beautiful St. James Bay Golf Course, designed by Robert Walker. The St. Marks
Wildlife Refuge is an excellent outing for the entire family. Located a little over an hour from Tallahassee and
only twenty minutes from St. George Island and Apalachicola, this retreat can be tailored to your own
adventurous spirit.
